  • Hahahaha repped hard!

  • And Dom, I don't think it is. Or so BBC weather says.

  • Whats the Kashimax top tube protector for?

  • To protect the top tube

  • Looks well nice Jake, looking forward to some proper pics. Preferably with bulls or drops please.

    To protect the top tube

    this.

I don't understand why people think they're only meant for untaped drop bars. Quill stems (torqued correctly) will rotate on impact, no matter what (any stems will) and so the wheel (which would strike the downtube first) will rest there while the underside of the stem ruins your mint track frame.

drunk-trackstand-toe-overlap-fail to prove the point. Was running Nitto Pearl and B260AA riser bars at the time, so very similar to JB's setup.

^reminds me I really need to replace the tape, as unlike the Kashimax, that's only good for one strike.

  • This^…

    Duh.

  • ride it in the rain

  • Except the Kashimax top tube protector were put when transporting the track bike from velodrome to velodrome rather than as a normal feature.

Having said that, I'd still leave mine on as it's useful if says the bike fall over accidentally or an incident like Apollo.

  • Or if you fall in a Keirin.

  • Then you can probably expect more than a little ding in the TT.

    Hehe teetee

  • Or if you fall in a Keirin.

Well you can't use it in a race as its not NJS approved! :-)

You'd be surprised. NJS frames are so burly. Dimi3 once noted how surprised he was that my Panasonic weighed the same as his Gangsta. They can take a right beating.

i was surprised that such a burly frame is not able to be used in the rain

    Mine is the opposite.
Large, super thin and lighter than my mates mielec.

    Rep

  • Mine weighs fuck all and is actually supposed to have a 68kg rider weight limit.

Burly doesn't mean that I have sealed components.

Tbh, the carbon clinchers weighed considerably more than the tb14s. That made a big difference.

  • fuck just checked the weight of the drops - 704g. I am definitely getting alu.

  • Are they 123s? Dibs.

  • yes, sometime this week I'll see if tokyo fixed have what I want and if I can be bothered to do the tape again

  • ugh oh, the weighing is in

    NJS WW thread incoming

  • I only got them because they're shinier than the alu ones and I kind of regretted it when the front end felt significantly heavier, also I remembered I'm a skinny hipster not a gnarly Japanese sprinter so they're not so necessary.

  • If you want b123aa they do have them. I want b125aa but they so 'expensive.

I will only be using the drops on the tarck so hopefully that won't be an issue.

  • but do they have them in the right width jake brown? I will need to check.
