leader are cheap pieces of shit, with the worst lazy welding you've seen in your life! DO NOT BUY!!!

welding does look shoddy but as-long as the frame is straight and true, as a 1st track frame, why not.

but in all honestly it looks hand welded, TIG welded, and those ripples are pretty tidy for a hand welded tube joint, only machine tig welds even look reasonably tidy, even then look slightly shitte.
Marin being a prime example.

Those ripples are unavoidable in TIG welding cause it's necessary to "pool" the welding material to get a strong joint.

if you're going to spend the money on a new frame, seriously save your penny's and get something better.

you muff muncher i rode one for 4 years,it's solid as and the welding might be toothpaste but it rocks one of my favourite frames ever(mine had the heavy metal graphics which is why errr)

The quality of the Leader frames is on a par with a langster/bowery etc . . . if you want a tough frame for hacking around town they fit the bill nicely - all for saving your pennies to buy some porn, but whenever i do that i build something that i would never leave locked up on the streets, which kinda defeats the whole purpose.

This new one looks pretty decent.

it is nice, but a little on the pricey side, especially the importing whether a Bob Jackson would be cheaper for instance.

it a bit funny when the Reynolds steel were imported from the UK to Taiwan to build the lugged frame and then bringing it back, might as well make do with a local frame made from Reynolds tubing!

Saw these bikes outside Nike Store in las Vegas. Like the leader frame, guessing it's an old one.

Looking at the frames on Ebay, quite fancy one after seeing this one in the flesh.

see how the wheel is nearly touching the seat tube yet the axle is half way the track ends? design flaw right there. it's been pointed out earlier but this is a fine example.

That does look fairly ropey, but those tyres look pretty chunky to me. If you're going to run 28's on a track frame you're going to have clearance issues. The leader might be worse than most, but with some 23's I bet it's not much of a problem.

Even so, it shouldn't able to have that much gap left on the track end!

Here's an example of a Bianchi Pista Concept, the tyres are skinny (as far as I can see) yet still got space on the seat stay;
