^ "Collaged": does this mean it's not painted?
-
• #1057
Ah hadn't seen that. I'm not sure, perhaps the design is just laid onto it and then clear coated over, similar to the la gazetta baum coretto. If so not sure how they fix the collage to the frame?

Alright chaps,
Aimed at the decal crew - can you print a pattern on to vinyl, and then cut it in to decals, or are you restricted to what manufacturers produce?
I want to spray my road bike matte black and replace the decals. I'm thinking about cutting them from an image of a Nebula or some other colourful space phenomena, but I can't find anything similar.
Other vinyl I've found include 'chrome oil-slick', and a chromaflare effect or a ridiculous silver holographic shimmer. Should I?

you could get someone like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-Sticker-Printing-Any-Shape-vinyl-Stickers-Decals-Labels-Waterproof-/261439809665?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cdf06e881to print lots of super rad space pictures onto vinyl and then get someone else (roboto?) to cut what you need from that?

• #1063
that's rad - I've not had any experience when it comes to decals and the like.
Presumably if I send the decals and the F&F to armourtex or the like, they could fit them up all nice like...

The decals that H Lloyd supply are printed vinyl - I don't know if it would be worth asking them if they could do a custom job.
The print will wear off from rubbing if you don't clear coat over them, mind. They are supposed not to fade from sunlight though.
You could also try www.diginate.com as they do custom printed & cut vinyl, and it's not expensive at all. I made some fake 531 decals and they were very cheap, less than a tenner for 50 (on gold metallic vinyl):
Just did a quick check and as an example, they'll do a single 40cm x 3cm gloss printed vinyl with custom cut for £8.23.

Looking at his website, it seems it's done in house!
My rule of thumb, is that if you have to ask, it isn't.
PP should smack you square between the eyes, tickle your bollocks and get the beers in: there's no doubt about the real thing.
