  • Says that to the Brompton owners who rode the London Edinburgh London audax on it.

    They'd probably tell you it was harder and less comfortable that doing it on a normal, geared bike.

  • I know, just wait till you hear about the contraption that someone is using for the LEL;

  • Saw some dude make it up Ditching one of those, looked ridiculous but fair play.

  • build a pompino up with a flip flop wheel for lazy days or crappy weather, cantis for proper stopping and clearance for comfy tyres plus racks and guards.

  • Cowards way out, build something full NJS and start everyday by M'TFU.....

    .... do so at your own risk

    Going down the surly steamroller route for exactly those reasons....well probably a porteur rack instead as the steamer hasn't got rack mounts.

    Black dude?

  • Yes! He was proper pacing along the flats too, he was well keen.

  • I have a 20 mile each way commute, and there's only about 400/500ft to climb and it's just annoying on the fixed as I either can't get the 37mph on the down bits or I'm grinding my knees to death going up.

    It's okay, nice even, doing it every now and again fixed but I definitely would rather do it on the roadie.

    Was it this guy? He's the UK agent, Idai Makaya (or at least was in 2011).

    Yep, you spotted Idai who's training for the LEL.

    Can't help but admired his sheer determination.
