GOOD NEWS!
44cm (42cm ctc) ordered from wiggle are COMPACTS!
Wooooo!!!!!
scratched the shit outta them trying to get them into a dura ace stem but all good!
Going to strip the black anodising off the clamp area and put the on my full dura ace 7700 roadie.
How did the stripping + polishing of clamp area go?

I ordered 44s and got the new compact shape too, they work out just 0.5cm wider in the drops than the nitto noodle they are replacing, although also 2cm wider at the hoods (as the nittos flair a bit Luke rando bars).
I will miss the swept back shape on the tops though -

I measured my shoulders at 42cm am I correct in thinking I should go for 46cm in these?
-
• #359
^width in shoulders (joint to joint) is width in bars right? or at least as a rule of thumb to start from.. i personally like my bars narrow, contradicting the idea that wider bars are better because you open your chest up, allowing for better o2 intake.
what width of bars were you running previously?
-
• #360
I've always ran risers, so I'm new to this.
I read that you should run shoulder width plus 2cm and as the Piegas are measured outside to outside you should add another 2cm
-
• #362
^^ok i didnt take the diff way of measurement into account, i just always refer to the width c-c.
did you already buy or could you go by a local deda dealer and try out some widths?

^^ these ones? in the description they say they're anatomic shape?

Piega troll is obvious. Hopefully. Otherwise read the rest of the thread.

Nitto M184, bought it last year from Japan. the best anatomic handlebar.

Do Nitto make the m106 in a 44cm width? Can't find any mention of anything over 42cm.
Also, are the Highway one's flexible as in useless, or flexible as in comfortable? -
• #367
42cm is the widest the M106 come in AFAIK (bear in mind they're a predominantly Japanese-market road bar). They are 42 centre to centre though, not outside to outside.
The Hwy Ones are fine for general riding, they're certainly not useless. I notice the flex but I'm a fairly big bloke.

Interesting, thanks!
The Nitto's could be ok then, but I definitely prefer a 44cm c-to-c, and don't really want to spend that much cash on a compromised fit.
I missed the 44cm silver Highway one's being back in stock at sjs, so tempted to polish up some black ones.
Unless anyone has any silver ones they want to get rid of?
