'Music' festivals: a total ripoff, for clueless cunts.

Just back from Bestival. Highlights were Chic, The Roots, Elton and (surprisingly) Rudimental.

The quotient of people walking about acting like utter cunts has risen significantly of late. It's now so bad, normal folk are walking about covered in stickers that say 'DON'T BE A DICK'.

I'm not sure what it is about festivals that make people think they can behave in ways they would never normally do and that it's somehow alright to do so because they've taken a load of MDMA and are wearing a fucking straw hat.

Wow - at least at Glastonbury you can carry your wine and cider into the arena. I went to Latitude (never again) in about 2007 and was subjected to a bag search every 30 minutes.

I went to Latitude a few years ago and the searches were pretty lax, I had the equivalent of a bottle of whiskey in my pocket and no-one checked.

Hasn't it grown considerably in size over the past few years as well, is there any comparison to the ticket price and the number of acts?

I had a bottle of Buckfast taken from me at connect, but we snuck round the back of a burger van and scooped it back from their search profit stash. A pleasing turn of events.

I'm going to attend the Out&Loud festival in a week. Since my band plays there, I get in for free. What I have seen from the planning going on, I'm quite happy I don't have to pay any real money to get there.

Last festival I attended was Metalfest Austria 2 years ago. Weather was shit (campsite completely subdued in 10cm of water/mud), organizers were shit, bands were cool. Stopped me from going to festivals since.

I sold my Glasto ticket for £200. So much relief at not going.

OLC has gone to Glasto, so relieved I'm at home this year
