  • I'm hoping to go to Primavera Sound in Barcelona this year, with a friend and his missus.
    Excited about it.

Barcelona is a great city, and when I went to Sonar it was all sorts of late night epic..

Hoping this will be the same. I may have work at the same time, so there maybe some shifting of stuff to sort.

Still makes me happy thinking about it though..

  • Sounds good.

  • anyone think of any decent 'boutique' festivals this year for old gravers that quite like a nice sit down and a cup of tea as much as getting 'bang on it' - preferably in Midlands/Northern England?

  • Festival No 6. Probably go again this year.

  • The thread title makes me laugh every time.

I am a massive fan of boomtown fair which is near Winchester so not in the right area of the country. Quality music if you are into reggae/ ska/ jungle and you could proabably get a cup of tea somewhere although it is more likely to be brutally strong west country cider.

  • Isn't Boomtown a bit of a wreckhead festival?

A lot of people rate Secret Garden Party as boutique-y fun festival

  • Secret Garden Party is good, lots of arts and music, great for kids. Got a bit more pricey last year however which put me off.

Wyndstock for something a lot more sedate...location nr Kings Lynn.

If you fancy venturing further afield then try Knockengorrach Festival, beautiful Scottish countryside, laissez faire attitudes and a lovely vibe. Tea a plenty, homemade wines, ladies in sheepskins and a step away from the cash grabbing teeny crowds, yurts, arts, reggae, dub, ska, folk, a butt naked sauna.... worth a visit just for the butt naked sauna and the cooling dip in the river.

Loads of vegans though - cant have it all your own way.

  • no6 was amazing. music and setting was sick, and the crowd was probably the nicest ive seen at a festival

THIS is why I swerve most festivals. People. People there tend to say 'sick'.

  • ^ froze my ASS off the first night
found a hot water bottle (boy) for the next couple of nights
    :O

Does that last bit mean you sucked him off, too?

  • I go to festivals to avoid people who use the term swerve instead of avoid :)

  • :O too? no, it's a festival, that's filthy

How about Beacons festival near Skipton?

There's also a lot of good cycling if you were to bring a bike.

I'm also hoping to go to Primavera this year - the line up looks great, as does the weather!

  • skully has started a festival

The T-Shirt site ... “There will be stalls. We don’t know what they’ll be selling but everything will be a tenner.”

    or £17.99

  • Primavera ticket booked, just need to decide how I'm going to get there, train or plane, and whether I should take a bike with me or not..

Checked out the lineup and 80% of it isn't for me, but a good time will be had..

By bike, no doubt about it; reduced travel expenses means more beer moneys dosinnit...

    Simples.

  • Me and all my mates (both of them) love going to all the festivals we can. We are so cool in our Jester hats dancing to all the best bands like Coldplay, Antarctic Monkeys and Robbie. I love it though when some big American r&b superstar headlines. We all feel eternally grateful they blessed us with their exalted presence in our little old field.

  • Wasn't sure if here or Hipster Thread

    Achingly try-hard festival cunts!
