The're one of those rare products that look great, are built well and work perfectly.

Spoke to Jake today, apparently the crown wont take modern fork blades so he's going to build me a new pair instead.
I'm going to ask if he can do it with this:
As i've always wanted a pair of flat crown forks.

Sad about the forks getting kicked in, but the bike is super nice, so hope you get it fixed!

That's the same as the originals.... But they don't have crowns on... Too similar.... Too many memories man...
-
• #186
what you doin' with them old forks? how do they look now?
-
• #187
I'll keep the Crown as a mimento, they're in pieces as jake had to try and fit the new blades

Word from Jake is that the forks should be ready by friday!
-
• #191
boom! can haz fixeh!
-
• #192

-
• #193

I got an email from Jake on Friday, as expected to say that the new forks were ready, but he actually said that he...
"...was using a new crown race cutter and it overcut it by 0.05mm- not much but enough so that the race is not a tight fit."
So he'll probably be making me some new ones now which will be ready by the end of this week or the start of the next. Ho hum
-
• #195
what headset you using? some are tighter fit then others.. you could just let him ship it over and if too loose, ship m back?
-
• #196
I suspect due to the way compression systems work, and the difference in friction coefficients between race and crown and race and bearings it wouldn't be a huge problem... but better safe than sorry
-
• #197
i think so too. hell, i may be even interested in them forks if they now cheapz. hook a brother up if so..
-
• #198
I don't think jake would just give up something that isn't perfect, it reflects on his brand don't forget.

Any updates?

Apparently the forks are due to be finished today, however I might not be able to get them till tomorrow now
sweet - love those barends, I have them on the polo bike and they've taken a serious bashing, more than I'd expect any normal bike to endure, and they're scratched up to shit but still 100% functional
