Fucking unbelievable. Crush her car, ban her from driving for 10 years and prison for 12 months at least. The law really needs review.
Oh, and the Predator thing, ideally blows her texting arm off with the triangle plasma gun thingy – cut to shot of her arm on the ground twitching, phone still in hand... -

texting at the wheel has overtaken drunk driving as the biggest killer of American teens, 2700 a year versus 3000.

Dolan says the state needs to address the issue in a variety of ways in order to get the message across that texting while driving is a very serious health risk.

Sadly not that surprising (from anecdotal evidence only) - but disappointing again that the professional, commercial drivers make up the vast majority of those stopped. There seems to be no statistic on those charged/convicted though.

I'd like to applaud that man, I certainly can't fault him for his intentions.
Alas I think he underestimated just how stupid people really are. I can imagine a lot of people who use phones while driving would have spent an inordinate amount of time staring at their phone and button bashing when it cut out unexpectedly. I imagine he inadvertently caused a lot of near misses.

Was impressed with the guy having a shave, while trying to pull in front of a bus.

A while back I saw a dustcart driver reversing in to a yard by a block of flats with a phone clamped to his ear. I reported him, he got told off, I got an apology from the council and that was that.
Then back in March I saw the same guy driving down my road, while his colleagues collected the bins, using his phone again. I reported it, only this time he denied it.
The council did send a memo to all drivers about using a phone while driving. It said that anyone caught using a phone would be disciplined. The driver though was not disciplined.
To my astonishment the same driver drove past my house two weeks later with the phone to his ear for at least two minutes, all the time he was in view.
I of course reported it, and this time it was escalated to a more senior manager.
Today they wrote to me and told me that as there was no evidence there was nothing they could do, so I have complained again and asked for it to be escalated.
No evidence. Do they think I was making it up? Did they check his phone? -

How would they discipline him when it's not against the law eh?

Staggering. Commendable perseverance though adroit. Sounds like you need to find the names and emails of more senior council officials, maybe some councillors too, and the MD of the driver's company.Lately I've found I get more response when I tweet about a problem. Being shamed in public is a more serious worry these days than a strongly worded letter or email.

They'll only take it seriously when they work out the potential revenues.

I'm going to grind this out through the council's complaint system first, then if they don't give the driver the appropriate discipline I will go to the Ombudsman, but I will probably end up parking my bike in front of the dustcart and having words with the driver.
He visits my road once a fortnight. -

Get a photograph of him next time.
Yeah, her intelligence is clearly the result of a liason between brother and sister or man and goat.
