Lovely how it looks on the first picture.

Great frame, though I think the wheels should be different. I've always loved the wit of HHSBs, the wit displayed in the fence photo. The, "Yeah, it has a trispoke on the rear 'cos that's all I had lying around". Matching them detracts from that a little... but maybe a super-deep rear and tri front?

(it was lovely as a track bike :( but each to their own!)

The second picture does it for me.
I think it would look cracking with a zen ring too.
Beautiful frame!

Hahaha, searched hhsb on instagram and saw the double trispoke photo at the station... Didn't even have to look at who uploaded it, because only you would put two Hed3's on this frame ;-)

Sweet ride.
But would agree a deep rim on the back would bring even more awesome.

I like the second and third pic best, Velocio said it perfect IMO. Such a cool bike, I love it.

The only deep wheel I've got is a silver CXP14 on a super record hub... Might try it. A deep carbon rear could look good, won't be buying any more wheels though, as soon as I have time/money will be getting the DA hubs laced up to some nice clinchers, at which point the Heds will be reallocated elsewhere. (if anyone has some nice 36h clinchers either polished or grey let me know)
I agree it looks nice as it started, however with tubs and B123s it might get ridden 3 or 4 times a year over at Manchester, with risers and clinchers (and a more comfortable saddle) it's getting ridden 3 or 4 times a week... No brainer for me. And still got the track drops if I do want to ride the track, although probably more likely to ride the Condor.
Plus after practically living in Sidi's for 3 weeks solid it's so nice to be riding in Vans...

Didn't you have another bike you were using on the track as well? I'm losing track of your current stable, we need signatures here so we can all list our bikes in them.

Don't worry, my tongue was firmly in cheek then. With most people it's relatively easy to keep pace though.
Isn't there also a Mash or a Leader or both?
-
• #14
ha no Leader here. Mash yes, for now. Will see if my offer is accepted on a certain eBay item.
Concorde got sold after acquisition of the Dolan.
A few BMXs namely an Intense race build and an old school Haro race, then a Boardman CX, Specialized jump mtb...
... and a curly Hetchins.
... and yes Tom, those bars were originally for the Mash but with them on the Concorde the fit is perfect.

Oh yeah the Mash, that isn't a Mash...
If you live up Norf and not in shoeboxes in London, I guess moar bikes is always possible.

If you live up Norf with your Mam and not in shoeboxes in London, I guess moar bikes is always possible.
sad but true.
#1 reason not to move out, nowhere for my bikes.
Just need to find a rich girl with a big house and move the family in with her.

More sensible wheels...
Half more sensible wheels....
Also swapped saddle for a turbo then an SLR, I know the SLR doesn't look the best but I prefer to not have sore balls....
-
• #20
... And 53x20 - 20 skid patches and great for grass track...
-
• #21
How do your balls get on with Flites? Mine couldn't get comfortable on a Turbo, but they're happy on the Flite now.
-
• #22
Not as well as the SLR...
-
• #23
Think this looks abolutely bloody awesome !! Tempting to change my drop bars now !!
-
• #24
I enjoy the new look with "full more sensible wheels" despite as you say the hubs being anything but pub bike material.
Very nice, any of these pics deserve a place in teh HHSB thread

Hmmm I do agree, but with 2 sensible wheels, there is no WOM...
Rode it about 40-45 miles today in semi-sensible wheel option. Oh man, I love this bike. It is so responsive to ride, and in this setup it really is like riding a really big, really fast BMX.
Part of the ride we did was a 6 mile rolling dual carriage way and we rinsed that in no time, one thing I'll say, it's hard to get out of the wind on risers.... Had a pretty sketch aerotuck going on with the headwind.
So I bought a Panasonic from Kingcutter in mostly NJS spec, it was a last minute decision due to selling my Argos to TheorySwine...
Looked like this to start with...
I didn't really have a plan of what to do with it, but I knew I wanted to try it out so when I got home grabbed the 2 nearest wheels and went out for a blast...
Now this was the beginning of the bad thoughts... I've been fairly skint due to all the nice bike part buying I've been doing, but had a few bits kicking about, so was struck by the thought of putting risers on it and having it as a fun bike to rag around town on...
Hey ho the NJSHHSpubBike was born.
After riding it a bit decided that the 5 gold was quite similar to perching on a plank of wood (although it was good in the drops) so have replaced that with a nice perforated Rolls I had, and a cheapish Campag seatpost (26.8) .. also decided on a slightly longer stem and black grips.
You also see the essential for any pub or town bike, especially a Yorkshire one, the Restraps.
Which leaves us here...
Short term plan is ODI longnecks to replace the Soyos for comfy glove free pub cruising.
The long term plan is to get the DA hubs built up with some nice 36h clinchers and return it to classy NJSish bike status, for the time being though I'm just going to enjoy it. Really is a load of fun.
