Of course not. Wasn't allowed to have time off to volunteer, have to carry on doing my usual job. Which is a bit difficult seeing as there's this effing great thing called the London Olympics going on all over London.

Low gearing is to get fastest acceleration out of the gate and hit the turn first.
The USA team were using power meters in run up to 2008 games and racking up highest ever recorded 5 second power measurements. The riders who made the team were pedalling only 18-25 times on the whole course, if you were pedalling 30+ times your body just got too fatigued from the repeated efforts and those riders didn't make the cut.
They've all had 'accidents' now though haven't they...
