Phew.. How those booties shape up?
Still not tried to stretch them on yet. I've got a 50 this weekend so will try them before that.

“Given how much the average young Australian male would far prefer to engage you in a discussion on the finer points of Mallarmé or Euripides than bandy remarks on uncouth ball games, it is hardy astonishing that they have won such a pitiful number of medals.”
Now that's Gold :)
Probably written by a Brit.
If an Aussie was responsible, you have us to thank for the knowing, self-deprecating humour.
Most likely a Brit dictated it while an Aussie wrote it.

No, we have you to thank for keeping your wet little island while sending prisoners to the gloriously toasty mine site of Aus.

“Until 1996, ‘rough sports’, a category which included rugby, surfing and cricket, were specifically banned in the Australian constitution as it was feared that they may distract young people from their studies of vers libre, dodecaphonic composition and ethnological art.

".....but only to introduce Australian Rules Football, a watered down version of the game which, according to those who have played it is ‘more like a mixture of chess and expressive dance’." -

Me too.
I had a dream about a zombie apocalypse last night. A proper one. I saw it happening all around me - no idea how it spread. I was with some girl from school (who was no longer 12 years old) and we found ourselves in a branch of London Camera Exchange trying to steal binoculars. Then as we turned around, the staff suddenly turned into zombies. But they looked rubbish. They looked like someone had badly painted their faces for a Halloween costume. Also they couldn't run very fast. So we just ambled away down the street.
When any zombies came at us, we had about a ten minute warning before they could actually reach us. So we went to the pringle, stole some bikes and just cycled around for the rest of our lives.
I had a very similar dream the other night. There was a group of 7 or 8 of us initially with the odd one getting eaten. Eventually me and someone else separated from the group and made it to a little acrobatic helicopter. We put all our efforts into making it work, but it wouldn't and then the zombies came.

How many competing in the omnium? Loving the Colombian kit...
I see Symon Lewis gets a mention in there too.
My question is. When can us mere mortals expect to get on the track?
