Even without the tax break, I reckon the scheme would be popular as an interest free loan to buy a bike.

I bought pedals on one of my b4w schemes, it was the garmin where I thought I was taking the piss but Evans were cool with that too.

plans new bike purchase
they said max was £1000, could someone use the full £1000 and top up out of their own pocket ? to take advantage of the 40% off
nah :(

I think perhaps the limits are different from shop to shop, within reason.

WTF, the section on Freestyle MTB was not about freestyle. It was fucking street/park/DJ or whatever you call it. Not freestyle.
They should've got Dan to do that section.

Yes, I've read it. He is a good writer. He's also written a book about sailing but I haven't read that one.
Loved the hour one - less impressed by the sailing one (maybe simply because it wasn't about bikes).

Just catching up on this now - lizzie and dani on the sofa giving interesting, in depth and revealing (though not revealing enough fnar) interviews. Jeff banks showing the world what a legend he is. Ron hayles' piece was actually ok - especially from the point of view of someone like me who's never ridden a folder. And a reasonably insightful piece (same standard of Eurosport preview) on la vuelta.
As a non fan to start, this is really getting there as a format. Bring on series 2

Still incredibly painful to watch... METAL: How It Works (on BBC 4) on the other hand is really interesting... (and they have lots of shots of red hot metal and forging and stuff)

A bloody monkey would have told how to maintain a bike better than that mechanic! Extremely lame and cringe worthly to watch...

And the presenter just told the other guy (Gary?)... 'You look incredibly fit'... CRiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinggggggggggggggeeeeeeeee

With each episode it is becoming increasing polished and professional.
Looking forward to series 2.

Maybe bbc could do a better job?
It's cheaper because of the tax stuff.. and the rule is that at least 50% of your time spent using the equipment is commuting.
According to Evans, all bike types are fair game, apart from childrens bikes. But as far as accessories go, there are some limits: notably a ban on cycle shoes, and components such as pedals, brakes, chains, hubs etc
