Ace, she can be on said show so as the populous doesn't have to suffer my face.

I watched the first episode, and was disappointed. To have Fisher, Obree and Mansell on for the first show does nothing to promote cycling. Two nutters and a petrol head - who happens to be involved in cycling? Not a great start. Cringeworthy in places.
I havent seen any other episodes and not sure i'll do so, unless this thread encourages me to.
Top Gear for Cyclists? No thank you very much.

I'd watch a programme made by scottmac, even if he does want to fuck me...
-

I'd only watch it if it features B&D and TW2. At least it'll be entertaining.

The polo looked fast, exciting and skillful.
Not how it looked a few years ago when it just seemed to be a few people riding slowly in circles. One of the best items on this show so far.Not sure what you can reasonably demand from a magazine type program with no budget trying to cover a myriad of cycling based aspects.
Pebble Mill At One never got slated for not having the Rolling Stones performing in the studio.

I fucking hate this show.
Obree has had an amazing life story, so why are they asking such banal questions?
Eddy Merckx could have an hour long programme about him as he is a legend, but again, another shit interview.
................................................You are making UTTERLY FUCKING SHITE TELEVISION THAT IS PAPER FUCKING THIN AND WILL KILL CYCLING IN THIS COUNTY.Have a nice day. More coffee please?
Scottmac.. Most people on the forum would like to see hour long interviews with Merckx, and Obree et al. But that's such a small audience. The show has to be inclusive which includes a fair amount of MOR shite purely as it has to in order to appeal to everyone. A show devoted to the hard core just would't have the audience figures and would soon be cancelled. I hope you have voiced your opinions direct to the show via it's Facebook page rather than just ranting here where they won't make a difference at all. I know for a fact that they are listening and are very eager to embrace any and all feedback

And you can see the unexpurgated Merckx interview on Youtube, by the way.
With a lovely close up of yours truly somewhere in the middle :-) -
• #244
If you watch the YouTube version, does it avoid the handsome, chisel-featured fucker in the opening credits?

What's facebook?
What's MOR shite?
Is that Mathematics of Operations Research?
I suppose you mean hard-core road cyclists rather than Joe Soap public who don't ride a bike?
According to a report by the London School of Economics, the number of cyclists in the UK rose by 11% to 13 million during 2010. In the same year, the market research company Mintel estimated that 34% of adults in the UK owned a bike. How many of them own a television?
Re. The show has to be inclusive which includes a fair amount of MOR shite purely as it has to in order to appeal to everyone. Agreed, but the show looks like it's made by A-level media students.
If they (the producers) are listening, then they will know by many cycling forums I've looked at the response from Joe Public is not very good.
Every cyclist I know wants a good programme that incorporates all aspects on two wheels, but this isn't it. They sent Anna Glowinski, the creative force behind women's cycle clothing brand AnaNichoola (Mmm, more self promotion or a TV show?) to the Alps for a two minute piece of her mostly falling off. FFS!
Anyhow, I like a rant.
Sod off.

At least someone's doing something.
I can only imagine how shite the offering from the BBC would be...

Probably be fronted by Lineker and promote compulsory testing before being allowed on the road.

Anyhow, I like a rant.
There's a thread for that.
Sod off.
Please do.

• #249
On the basis that Anna has been a member of this forum for a considerably longer time and contributed more to it and to cycling than our dear provincial friend, I would much prefer to hear from her on the subject of cycling than him.

Agreed, the polo segment was the best yet and it showed polo in a very positive light. I was concerned about the change in length but it seems to have gone hand in hand with more knowledgeable and TV friendly guests and it does seem to make the show flow.
I am still going to poke a big stick through your spokes on Sunday for your earlier comment though.
