Is this an age thing? I always want crud catcher mounts.
Maybe a UK thing? I think the first time I saw them was on an old Pace frame.
I do like the look of all this bikepacking kit. Such a shame that I have no plans that involve using it :-(

Ditto.

Thought I'd put up a quick photo taken of the two Ogres ( Ogri? ) grazing on the lawn together.
Nothings changed on the first one, apart from swapping out the original 685mm Truvativ bars for some lovely 710mm Easton Havens.
The newer one has a slightly lower, but just as wide handlebar position using some On One Fleegle bars. Running a slightly more road friendly ratio of 62" for this one.
Apologies for photo quality. It was getting dark and I
couldn't be bothered todidn't have time todidn't set up the tripod. -

^ When I say 'getting dark' I mean it was about to pour down.

Nice. How is the trailer coming along?
-
• #57
No problems with the trailer so far, though I haven't exactly pushed the limits of what it can carry.

I've just ordered an Ogre from Charlie the bikemonger, should be here fairly soon hopefully!
i'm going to build it with bit from my other MTB.
Can't wait! -

^ Nice. You getting the new black one?
-
• #60
i thought about it, but the green is nicer!
-
• #61
A bit short notice for you nev, but if you're in the area and have it built up soon...

Loving the Ogri, Pete.
Any particular reason you went for an inline seatpost, you're a pretty big guy?

Well, I like Thomson seatposts for their adjustability and non-creakiness and I suppose my femur must be relatively short ( although I do have the saddles most of the way back on the rails ).

Cheers. I'd offer to lend you one for Epping, but riding them simultaneously to the train station might be tricky.

All makes sense, you could try one of the wonky ones if you can get over how they look...Cheers. I'd offer to lend you one for Epping, but riding them simultaneously to the train station might be tricky.
Ah thanks but I don't think that would be necessary :), it's looking like I'll have the gangsta by then, it's already in the UK.

Indra, are you putting big tyres on a gangsta? as in offroad tyres? i'll look forward to seeing it!
BN - yep i'll hopefully have it sorted by then. If not i could always turn up on my 98' kilauea.

Bigger than most have yeah.
I'm going for 38c vittoria randoneur trail tyres for now and will see how they go for the epping rides.
If I struggle it'll be some proper knobbly CX tyres for the next one!
-
• #71
nice, good plan.
Every time i go to epping it's very muddy. but apparently other people get it dry! I'm not sure i believe them. -

Could'nt quite work out where to put them on the fatframe.
Should maybe have bought the PBW mudguards a year ago, and measured them up. I was busy thinking of other stuff though.
Also (framebag comes in normal Camo too).
