Thanks @ArthurDent and @Lampman. The frame has been owned by a few people on here now.
I've got an old Specialised trispoke I could put on the front, for a fun commute! -

I think it's just these particular 'Bora One 50' wheels - Rim brake - I've seen 2 sets on ebay now where the front has delaminated from a decent/heat and a few rear-only sales. But who knows.
The owner of this rear one had that happen to his front too - using correct pads, not a particularly challenging mountain, apparently anyway.Edit: Seems the brake surface was changed in 2017/18 - with new resin and texture.

@Kimmo @J0nathan thanks for the re-spots! As per a previous enquiry/spot on this thread, the two MGGOFs in L'Atelier du Velo are builds of mine. The Masi was previously for sale on forum, the Massi (2-s version!) frame was in my frames for sale thread but I got bored one day and made it a bike again. Thanks to the lovely Josh at L'Atelier for the window space, they don't technically sell bikes in there but he was happy to have a splash of colour up front! Both available much cheaper via the forum if anyone interested! Here are a couple of photos not behind glass!

The Massi is 55x55 but weirdly looks much smaller. Conversely the Masi is 56x56 but looks bigger!
I also have this nice Ron Cooper about to be rotated with one of the window display at L'Atelier. Also 55cm sq. Ron seemed to like short headtubes.

You have wisely sourced Silver Athena groupsets! Centaur still works, but not the same...

Wow those ar e two very fine looking bikes there ! Much prefer the all silver levers to the silver with black plastic version, always made them look cheap like the old mirage back in the day.

Last few pages have been banging.

Thanks! Interesting you mention those levers - my son is happy with the PowerShift, he knows no better, but I miss the Chorus/Record UltraShift vibe. I've been feeling the urge to swap out the bodies for UltraShift and keep the silver brake lever blades, but as you rightly point out the silver gear paddles are class. Decisions, decisions... 🤔
Only just realised what damage an iPhone does to the colour of the Moser, it's nowhere near that fluoro - this is a bit closer...

Its a detail thats always bothered me on some of these modern retro builds, all that chrome and aluminium components just to have two black levers !
Maybe a quick paint with silver spray paint ? Or swap out a metal pair for plastic ones ?I had this Somec a couple of years ago and stuck with the slightly older groupset just to keep it all silver.
Ofcourse if its a Record groupset then I make the acception.

Christ there’s some good bikes in here. Must crack on with mine. Still need to source a few bits.
What are we saying for the saddle on this? Thinking a Flite 1990 in white perforated leather.
What’s the best white bar tape for staying clean or getting clean once it goes grubby?
Ignore those wheels. They’re now for sale and I’ve got some Fulcrums.

My go-to tape white or black is Fizik Tempo Microtex Classic - wraps really nicely, grippy wet or dry, you can get away with a re-wrap 2-3 times without it ripping, and exactly as on the tin looks classic. Although the new version is branded Fizik in contacting colour all down one edge, you can wrap so as to (mostly) hide that. Like all white tape it can get a bit grubby but does clean up - I use some 'Flash with Bleach' kitchen spray on a cloth!

Looks great. I think one of the reasons bikes like these are going for cheap is gravel is so popular, as are disc brakes. So a lot of people are upgrading.
So if you’re not fussed about either it’s a great time to buy.

Looks super clean!
What’s that stem?
Also what gearing are you running on the back?

Thanks. It the Cinelli Integralter. I’m running SRAM 1x as there’s not many hills down here in Puglia.

Threadless fork? Can't tell if that's a threaded headset from those potato pics
Just like a vintage TT set up with carbon on the back (just not a disk wheel) aluminium on the front, makes perfect sense! Front brake when you really need to stop and back for everything else? Great set up! 👍
