Not sure what you mean by spoiler, but loads of steel bikes have those Cinelli BBs
-
• #3403
Seller says it has the Cinelli spoiler BB shell so sounds like it’s definitely a Cinelli
Yeah it's not definitely. Anyone can use one of those BB shells and many have.
Anyway, here's a nice one

there's a spoiler/fairing on the bb covering the cable exits.
There's a misconception amongst the lesser informed that this makes the frame a Cinelli by default.

My Cinelli knowledge is whack beyond the bits I have owned myself so not sure what Cinelli's were made out of SLX that were not Supercorsa's.
By the 80s all Cinelli frames were stamped with a serial number on the BB with the first 2 digits being the year of manufacture. I'm pretty sure this applied to every frame.
EDIT: here's the bottom of my SC

At £1,600 it's also mega top dollar for a dubious Cinelli with 105 and Chinese ali/crabon clinchers.
Were I selling my Supercorsa with Dura Ace I think the number would be circa £2k?

I don't think those are cheap wheels, but regardless, I agree if that's the price...
-
• #3409
Well, they're not no name wheels but equally they're not Zipp etc al

Oops, I guess that’s me then... 😂
Certainly agree that the price is too much though

Have you got the link?
Edit: found it

It's weirdly very much like a debadged Tommasini or something. Same brake stays, lugs and BB shell. Did anyone make generic fake versions of these Italian frames?
-
• #3413
I’ve got the same brake bridge on a lugged frame I made at home in my kitchen, and as above, you can still buy those BB shells around. It could be literally anything
-
• #3414
That's what I mean. If it's badged as a cinelli, has features of my Tommasini and uses that BB shell it would be v tough to identify.
-
• #3415
But easy to identify as not a Cinelli?
Scanning through the sold and for sale prices on eBay, looks like you can get a legit Supercorsa for less than a grand. Better to do that I reckon and build up yourself.

That seatstay/binder cluster is characteristic of the Supercorsa but proved a weak point over the years. It's bad news if it's overtightened and the bolt socket stripped. US enthusiast bulletin boards have many complaints about this.
'White-label' Cinelli frames, sold for LBS to brand with own name, are identical to the Supercorsa but for the deletion of this detail. My own is branded Gianfranco Ricci, Ravenna and even has the same paint finish as shown here, Ferrari Pearl Red.

Seller says it has the Cinelli spoiler BB shell so sounds like it’s definitely a Cinelli, but no more ID than that
Fwiw, I quite like the targa vibe...
