  • It's probably from around 1993/4. The early ones (first produced 1992 I think) were EL but then they started using EL / OS (which it is).

@ others - Apologies for the photo, sloping path really doesn't help does it :(

  • it's clearly just a lo-pro with that 650c front wheel..

  • Nice try

  • Beautiful. This has motivated me to get my same frame up and running (think 89/1990 peugeot 753) - paint was in sorry state and got it done in fabulous baby blue by armourtex about 10 years ago (when that was cool). Parts bin built up with a 1x combination of SRAM force and red at the moment. Excuse no bartape photo etc.! Weighs in at 8kg with cheap wheelset which was a surprise....

  • So VMB potential!

  • when that was cool

Gorgeous Baby Blue doesn't need to be cool, it's legendary.

  • Don't often see silver R7000!

  • Nice! Yes that looks like the same frame as mine or very similar. It is surprisingly light. I really like the old skool SRAM force on yours!

  • I suppose this is as good a place as any to ask this; I've been offered an old 80s Peugeot 653 chorus frame and was toying wit the idea of putting a fully modern 2x11 groupset (ultegra) on it.... would I need the rear end widening/cold setting? Everything else would just work, wouldn't it?

  • Cold set & bb would need chase & face to take modern bb

  • I saw that look at the wall behind lol

  • 8kg thats bloody light .

  • I'm about to put a DA 7900 front mech on eBay. It has a 28.6mm clamp so perfect for the MGOAOF crew. Anyone want it for £20 posted?

  • First ride in a while on this due to lockdown. Corsa Extra with mainly 10spd Veloce, 180mm carbon record crank and Zondas. Stem and bars are Cinelli, Planet X bottle cage and a San Marco carbon fx saddle on a ritchey seatpost. Tyres are Michelin service course pro 4 and it rides like a dream

  • V close but need braze on

  • This is my Rondinella TT frame I used to own - before and after I put modern components on it.
It was completely original (although I changed the tubular SATURNE rims for commuting), including bar tape and everything - Campag pista chainset with Super record rear derailleur. It was sacrilege to change it looking back. I put carbon Centaur on there but should have kept it as it was.
I commuted every day for 2 years on this.

  • You didn’t used to work at Bishops Sq CS about 12/13 years ago did you?

  • YEAH! Sam. Who's this? :)
    Must have been 2005/6
Bankers from RBS coming in and wanting to buy a fixed gear bike on a lunch break. What happened to Shop 14 Bike Co in the end? The customers went there if we sold out of charge plugs. ha. So long ago now.

  • Ha hello, it’s Tim, worked there for a summer 2006 before moving to Highbury.
Thought I recognised the bike, always liked it.
    Hope all is well.

  • Ah yeah, hi Tim!
    Blast from the past.
I finally sold the frame last year, shame, as I think it would have fitted you from memory.
All well thanks. Hope you are too!
