Journos are cowards. They edge round the direct questions because unlike more recent Armstrong conferences there isn't a single hack in that crowd with anything approaching evidence that froome has done anything wrong. So they ask about doping in the third person by suggesting he and Brailsford put people's minds at rest. It sucks balls. When Armstrong sat there lying there were journos who knew he was shitting them. The questions were pitched to avoid litigation. This time it's just performance related fishing and speculation. If I were Wiggins or Froome I'd ask them to get to fuck also.

Yep. But he did call them all cunts.
Which is what endeared him to me.

• #3132
Fair comment from Brailsford in that Cycling News article.

This makes Fabian sad...
Nobody puts Fabian in the corner..

Taken in good faith, Brailsford's comments are a very positive development and arguably the best way forward. Teams need to do more to prove they are clean because the current model is broken. An independent panel of experts, operating under the auspices of WADA , and provided with the range of data to coherently map physiology to plausible power outputs would be beneficial.

• #3135
interesting they're happy to invite WADA in to study data but not Kimmage lol
-
• #3136
Q: Chris, is all this beginning to tarnish, for you, the whole experience?
Froome: I just think it’s quite sad that we’re sitting here the day after the biggest victory of my life yesterday, quite a historic win, talking about doping. And quite frankly, I mean, my team-mates and I, we’ve slept on volcanoes to get ready for this, we’ve been away from home for months, training together, just working our a**** off to get here, and here I am, basically being accused of being a cheat and a liar and... that’s not cool.ouch. must be fucking galling to go win like that and be treated like the tooth fairy.

Is that renowned exercise physiologist Paul Kimmage you're referring to or increasing foam-flecked, embittered iconoclast journo Paul Kimmage?
-
• #3138
You mean they're not the same?!

• #3139
Rest day? Rest day?! Outrageous - I rode a 100km yesterday and have I taken the day off work to "rest" .... no I haven't, lazy bastards..... what the fuck are we supposed to watch on the office TV?!
Re-run of Ventoux? Oh, go on then.....

• #3140
You hear those guys whining about their day off after riding up a hill but I did two hours of paintball on Saturday and played football for an hour too but you won't find me taking a day off work because I'm a bit sleepy. Bedwetters the lot of them.

^^ (Perceived) personality is a red herring in all this.

Now Froomedog, I'm really happy for you, and i'mma let you finish, but Sagan did one of the best wheelies of all time. One of the best wheelies of all time!

Out of interest do we know how much Quintana weighs?

... but Sagan did one of the best wheelies of all time. One of the best wheelies of all time!
Best is debatable, it's certainly one of the more amusingly out-of-context ones though.
-
• #3148
Am I the only person who thinks Quintana looks fucking weird. Especially off the bike in his podium tights. Like a Fraggle Rock character.
-
• #3150
He's a pro cyclist, they all look fucking weird off the bike, Dan.
