Internet rulez stated that you should argue that steel for the money is better than flexy titanium.
I agree, and blue is better than dull gray and a mismatched fork.

The titanium will of course be an expensive noodle.
The steel will weigh 6 tons, and rust into dust within a year.
A aluminium version would be unrideably stiff, and will crack.
A carbon version will implode without warning, delaminating into a thousand razor sharp shards.

So you might as well fuck frame material, clearances, fit etc...
....and buy the orange one.

Those salsa's are sweet apart from the lack of mudguard mounts, thus rendering them useless for a british summer
-
• #481
so are oranges the new frame building material? my experience is that they are horizontally and vertically squishy, but at least will help with dehydration
-
• #482
No way, bananas are the superior frame material. the curve builds in natural vertical compliance. Builds are expensive though to the the high level of technical expertise needed the join.

buy the orange one.
This + many more.

All the stores up here are full of salt cured sheeps ribs for Chrimbo. I reckon they have just the right amount of flex, and would be a good source of electrolytes on a long ride.

Ed, if you're after a disc-equipped road bike my suggestion would be to hold your horses until 2014 bikes start appearing. I think you'll probably have a lot more choice.

that frame is unfortunately 2400g in 56 size

Is that 6 tons?
I'm hoping carbon disc tabbed CX forks will be cheaper in 2014. I want to start a Uncle John, with disc brakes, and a 1x10 drivechain.

yes it is. Still want it.
the new generation forks will probably all be tapered and the uncle john headtube is not.

Making the non-tapered forks rare and expensive, as opposed to out dated and cheap. Pish.
My bad, its 6 tonnes.

Kinesis Pro6 might well end up a better buy.

I almost feel like its all already produced but the brands can not decide on which chinese frame
they should put their stickers. -

I want hydraulic discs so I can do the same thing (although I have the frame and forks already).

Think that about the same weight as my CdF, still as long it ride good and you're not doing a Dammit, I doubt it really matter.

I already have a lot of parts for a mtb cable disc to drop bar set-up. I also have some Small block 8 cx tyres, which would'nt see the sort of riding that would warrant the extra modulation. In fact I'm pretty close to a 1x9 drivechain too.
I may start and finish the build in secret. Then start and conclude a current projects thread, in the same day. to up my average a touch.

My weight weenie road bike is based on a house brick of a frame. So that not a bad starting point for a more practical bike at all.

Mosquito Cycles have the frames already. I hope SRAMs hydraulic brakes come out soon

The Salsa?
-

£900 even with Enve fork that's pretty pricey compared to a custom frame.
I think I rather go PX carbon and have enough for ultegra shifter, 10 speed cassette, chain and derailleur.

all my bikes are black or gray, I am fed up with it.
Ah well, lets face it..
about everything.
