We haven't got any shafts yet. LHBPA, but they aren't likely to ship them, so I guess on the day.

Ha, I wondered if someone would pick up on that. Obviously I'm still "we" when it comes to the LHBPA, just not when I've got my Magic hat on.

During our stay in Geneva it became clear there is an issue with our heads, they were wearing much quicker than our prototypes. Once back in the UK, and with similar reports coming in from some of the first users of ours heads, we contacted our supplier to explain the difference. It turned out that rather than using UHMW, as they did with the prototypes, they had used HDPE instead.

As you can imagine, we are pretty angry at this. We are currently negotiating with them, and hope to be able to offer you proper UHMW heads as soon as possible. With immediate effect all the HDPE heads will be sold for £6. They still play very well, but will not last that long, we'd recommend them as either a tournament mallet, a cheap option (there are no other capped mallets out there at that price), or a mallet for smooth courts.

Our prototypes are still going strong after 2 months, and once we get our supplier to use the correct material, we will be able to sell these to you.

To everyone who has supported us, and bought our heads, we like to offer the following:

If you have received your head we will give you an additional HDPE head, for each one we have already sold you. We expect to have more stock of HDPE heads in early September. Alternatively we will offer you 50% off an UHMW head, for each one you've bought. Please let us know what your preference is.

If you have paid, but haven't got your heads yet, we will either refund you the difference, and give you the HDPE head, or give you 2 for each one you've ordered, or if you prefer, just a full refund. Again, let us know what your preference is.

We are really sorry about this, and we hope you understand we had no idea these weren't the heads we thought they were.

I had noticed the quicker wear and switched to my spare to keep the other one in good shape for the weekend, the heads still work pretty well though, I'll take 50% off a couple of UHMW when you get them.
