Having said that, the titanium would look awesome;
Yes I was thinking that too. Moots Cinch. Firefly? This is getting all a bit much...

The thing is that it's also very stiff and has all the traditional smoooothness and comfort of steel. I need more time to medidate on the exact cause behind this since there are probably too many factors, but it feels quite different from my 853 and Ti road bikes..
If you do elaborate on this at some point, I'll be very interested to read your thoughts. I wonder if part of what you describe is due to the relatively eased-out chainstay length, for instance.
I really like what you've done with the bike. Sounds as if you only need to make a couple of component swaps to get it dialled in, albeit after more wallet deployment.
Good time of year to pick up a new bike too! Enjoy.

I think the delicate shape of some RB010 bars would compliment the frame better, for me the MASH bars seem a little out of place on the masterpiece that is the frame...
If you're going for a Ti post, then a brazed ti or steel stem to compliment would be amazing. I understand the project must have cost a fortune already, but why stop now eh?

Thanks for that, I wouldn't disagree from an aesthetic perspective. Having ridden both I find the Mash bars nicer to ride with and more comfortable primarily because of the shaping they've done to the flats and curve of the bullhorn. The Nitto is more compact and prettier though.
Having said that, I do have a RB 010 lying around. And a now too long stem. And a spare brake lever. If I can find a 31.8 to 25.4 shim for the stem there can't be any harm in at least seeing.
Controlled tweaking is the key! But this will have to wait, taking a bike and the ferry over to Calais to photograph over the long weekend. Hope everyone has a good one.

Got to be that Syncros post, it is awesome.

That Doric is rad. Need in my life.

They don't do the crabon Doric in 27.2 sadly, or I'd have had one for the 'Nag ages ago.
Pimpest might be a Syntace P6 HiFlex.

Or a bit more trad might be a WR Compositi inline post (good luck buying one though).

3T have a completely new range of seatposts (no more Doric et al). Currently I am leaning towards the single-bolt Ionic:
But they also have a more traditional dual-bolt Stylus:
I'm trying to figure out if I can deal with either the grey or red 3T stripe (the answer is probably yes). The trouble is none of these blasted new seatposts appear to be in stock anywhere.

Interesting. They're quite ugly, aren't they? The Pro version of the Ionic-0 is probably the best looking.
They sell direct from the website, no? Although you'd be paying full retail, of course.

Single bolt look awesome, if it's anything like the Palladio, it's a headache trying to find the right angle but once you got it set, it'll stay set.

Seatpost aesthetics are such a personal thing aren't they? I was initially leaning toward the Ltd Ionic but suddenly I can see why some people might prefer a less bulbous head.
-
• #92
To be fair, the top part of the Ionic isn't that visible when you have a saddle mounted on it.

Found a bike with the Ionic on it, okay it look a little big;

Very much so. :)
The LTD Ionic-0 isn't bad looking, really, just for me it would probably look better on a swoopy crabon frame than a steel frame. Not sure about the Stylus' thin curved rail bit at all, though both clamps are probably a functional improvement on the Doric.

Actually I just scrolled back up and I think the LTD Ionic would look really good with the rest of the build.

Good man! Now off to find a way to determine if this seatpost is actually functionally up-to-scratch or not!

The question is, do you get an ARX LTD to match?
-
• #99
I've got a 27.2 Doric LTD in a box waiting for my Oak to be built- they definitely exist.
I've got 2 on other bikes, and a Palladio Team- issue with the Palladio is that it only works with saddles that have circular rails, i.e. not carbon.

Kent Eriksen or I un-subscribe!
3T have a "black" edition nowadays, would this suit you? it also mean you can get matching 3T black stem to complete the look.
