What are the plans? Modern groupo?
-
• #6
Maybe 90's group with STIs?
Although I did have my eye on this complete DA 7400
Do want....can't afford.
Won't rush this one, need to do the frame justice. Open to suggestions!

Wow. I like the decals.
I run my 90's racer with a mix of Campagnolo; mainly 90's Chorus and Record, but I insisted on modern brakes with salmon pads. Overall still looks "right". I run PX AL30 wheels as the Shamals I'd like are a bit pricey, and these are lighter too.

Wouldn't mind trying a 90's Dura Ace set up some time though, as long as it was with brifters.

wow, thats a pretty special frame, I reckon campag would look the business on there - a la spotters Alverez
-
• #10
Campag would be great, you got the perfect headset to start you off.
Can't wait to see what you do with it!
-
• #11
I just got a veloce 8 spd group for my concorde for only 80 euro's. Doesn't have to cost much.

A very nice example of work by one of the best frame builders in the country!
You're a lucky man.

• #17
7700 too modern?
-
• #18
noo, perfect!
-
• #19
Go for the 7700, then DA to Mavic Open 4s.
Definitely don't go for DT shifters, on bikes bigger than about 58cm they're nonsense.

^true.
I've emailed the seller... lets see... -
• #21
He doesn't even state if everything's working properly. Obviously would be a good start, so would close-ups of the chainrings etc. Not that you don't know that already.
-
• #22
Yeah asked for that too... he says its for 'spares' so may be no good

Jockey wheel and mech pivot play are one to watch out for too. Not sure how Shimano brifters age as I service and repair my Ergos. See if you could get a nice price anyway. Open Pros on DA would be nice, but I wouldn't rule out light semi-aero rims. I'm really enjoying mine compared to my old box-section Wolbers.

Sram red or GTFO.
