  • Well done!
I love the fat carbon fork on skinny tubes look.
Yours will actually be similar to mine with the gilco tubing. I'm a bit envious about the whole diy experience thing though.

  • Is that proper Gilco tubing or just pinched to look like it?

Really lovely frame and thread, nice that it was kept alive and is still growing. Much admiration from the hammiest of fists

  • Get some retro Time Club forks, nice straight skinny legs, can get them threaded or ahead in 1" too.

Lovely frame though, chapeau! When are you putting some clothes on it?

  • Proper Gilco. Last one in the shop too!

  • Great suggestion for the forks - but I've already bought some generic ones, so will save that for a future 'upgrade'.

I'm going to take it to Colourtech early next week, and their turnaround is a couple of weeks, so should hopefully have this done and dusted by the end of he month.

Now just got to agonise for a couple of days over paint and decals..

  • Good work, what a great way to start the new year!

  • Nice work you needed a new project. Are you going to have Jingle ,Jangle decals made? JJ Cycles maybe?

  • Beautiful job! One day I'll make my own once I get fed up with being a #buyer

  • JJ Cycles. Has a ring to it ;)

  • @Jingle_Jangle it looks like a great effort. Your previous mounts have all been bigger frames than this.Whats going on?

  • You should have some transfers made. At least something for the head tube

  • Had a proper bike fit.

Apparently, I'm deformed - my torso is of 'above average size' for my height. Therefore this frame has a 57cm seat tube and 58cm top tube, to be built with a 11cm stem.

If it had been up to me, I'd have gone for a 58 0r 59 square, but the data suggest otherwise. It might make a difference if I were a serious rider, but really I just potter about going for coffee and stuff.

Will be interesting to see what happens. If the fit is a revelation, I've got a lot of bikes to shift!

  • Gonna get Colourtech to sort all that. Trying to get the oldest Jangle-ette to draw me a head badge, but she'd have to take her headphones off and put her laptop down for a few minutes, which doesn't happen all that often.

  • Great work and beautiful frame! What are you thinking in terms of paint?

  • Really agonising over paint. Favourites are:

    Metallic Grey all over.
Metallic Grey with Pink Head Tube.
    Flamboyant Blue.

Will probably change my mind by Wednesday

  • any decal plans? Looks great!!

  • Colourtech flanboyants are very nice. If you do go for one, be sure you get both the silver and colour overcoat touch up paint. Also be aware, that the paint is a bit "fragile" until it has been on the bike for a bit.

  • Decals are going to be simple. My surname on Down tube and maybe Seat tube in some as-yet-to-be-decided-upon font, and my initials on the head tube.

Was toying with the idea of having a head tube badge 'designed', but would probably never be able to make a decision.

Now I want to get it painted and built up asap.

  • Some bits have arrived:

  • Did you decide on paint - definitely that hardest choice!

  • Took the frame to Colourtech, and went for Gunmetal Grey with Pink Head Tube. Decals will also be in Pink.

Might end up a bit shouty, but let's see.

  • Won't this look a lot like the Talbot?

  • May well, but I've got a thing for that colour scheme.

  • Hmm. And bugger.

  • Well done!
