• Left hooked by a cunt in an audi. Riding to see a friend about who just been knocked off her bike. Fuck

  • Hang on - you both got knocked off?

    What happened to Ho?

  • Phone typo for 'who'?

    Are you injured, Tim?

  • ^^really hope you are both okay Tim. Xxx

  • Have a look at the 'what to do in case of an accident' thread, alwaysanalogue. If you're an LCC member, you can also get half an hour's worth of legal advice. Good luck with getting it resolved.

Thanks Oliver, have been in touch with a solicitor (meeting Wednesday). Providing I can get a solid statement from the guy who witnessed it, it should be pretty cut and dry.

Thanks for that gov link too, car model matched up to the plate. Here's hoping.

  • Swift recovery to all recent injured folks on here too!

  • Ah sorry, yeah typo for who.
I'm okay, MissMouse is at the hospital waiting for a shoulder x-ray

  • And will be re-reading the "what to do" thread to work out what to do to the guy who left hooked me and didn't stop. Arsehole

  • Shit! Hugs to you and Alex!

  • Crap news. Separate incidents, then?

Hope MM's X-ray shows nothing serious!

  • ^^She says thanks, be careful not to hug her collarbone too hard eh!
^Yep I was riding over to see her after her accident when I was taken out. Yay!

  • Rubbish! Hope you're not at the hospital all night..

  • Which hospital? Kings?

The A&E department there is great, as is the radiology department and the fracture clinic (been through all of those, over the years). Some other departments/teams are rather less good.

  • Hope you guys heal up fast. My experience with kings is exactly the same, have had 1st class treatments from 2 consultants who didn't think my problems were too small for them to deal with personally, and some others couldn't be bothered to even return many phone calls from my GP.

  • Can sleep. Drugs don't work :(

Broken collar bone thanks to jaywalking (actually they we running) peds at Camberwell Green. A&E we're good but it was 2 hrs before I got there and another hour an a half for an X-ray - by which time I was somewhat delerious. :/

  • Sorry bro.
    Heal fast.

  • Hope the drugs kick in for you soon so you can get some sleep, also heal up fast, xrays come back good.

  • Alex, you poor lass, I don't feel your pain, but can imagine it. What analgesics have you been given?

A big (but very gentle) hug!

  • Ouch! Heal up fast Alex...

  • Heal up all! Troublesome times. x

  • Heal soon MM, will be wishing you well untill you have news!

  • I got knocked off on Hammersmith roundabout on Tuesday morning
A taxi pulled right across in front of me from the next lane to pull into an office forecourt
I had nowhere to go as I was faced with a wall of black steel but managed to slightly swerve, brake and go over the handlebars rather than under the taxi wheels
As I lay in the road shouting the F word as loud and repeatedly as I could , the passengers calmly got out and walked into their office !
However, lots of very kind people rushed to help and ambulance and police were great
no serious damage to me other than a nasty gouge in my chest from the metal tag of the zipper on my santini jersey ( will go far plastic next time!)
It was caught in cctv and I have a witness as the driver behind me had a front seat view
I need some bike repairs ( and a new jersey as the zipper broke!)
However - driver says he wants me not to claim through his company in case he loses his job
Is it sensible for me to try to settle with him direct ?

I've been knocked off twice before in last few years - and always underestimate how it takes a few days to feel fine again - even with minor physical injuries .

    Annoying !

  • Oh Isobel, glad you're all right.

Have a look at the 'what to do ...' thread:

    https://www.lfgss.com/thread4213.html

You're an LCC member, aren't you? You can get free legal advice from Levenes in that case.

Whether it's sensible to settle with him direct depends on whether he'll actually honour it. There have been cases where there has been radio silence following such a 'commitment'.

You should in any case register the crash with police. (We need a proper full database of crashes, too many go unrecorded.) It's good that you have a witness but you could try to get the CCTV recording in any case. It may not be worth it given the small amount of damage, but see how you feel about it. I forget what the procedure is, but the police can certainly request it.

    Good luck!

  • In this case.. i don't

Oliver while I might appreciate your attempts to make political capital from any situation - even the misery of others.

  • As I lay in the road shouting the F word as loud and repeatedly as I could , the passengers calmly got out and walked into their office !

    charming.
