• think i prefer the bulls!

if only you werent all the way out there, finding it impossible to find a reasonably priced set of rb001/2's

  • Happy to get some and ship them at cost if you want!

  • I'd guess it'd work out more expensive than tokyo fixed at £52?

  • Same price as here BEFORE shipping! Sorry!

  • Come onnnnnn payday!

  • They're totally worth 52 quid though, no worries. Great bars.

  • As those Zen chain rings rediculously expensive in Japan as well?

  • They're not THAT much more than the regular Sugino 75 rings. In the end I figured if I'm gonna do it, I might as well go all out!

  • such a sweet set-up!

  • Current setup for longer rides. I am aware that the tri cage is absurd on a keirin frame and I don't really care. Need to rig up some kind of bungees on it though, to stop it ejecting almost brand-new empty bottles onto the road where they then get hit by buses (ask me how I found this out).

  • love this thread dude! - Just finished my track bike set up and all i want to do now is sell it for a NJS build and take it to japan haha.

  • Soooo...

Anyone interested in this? I mean, you know... buying it?

  • umad?

  • ^^mans all about the gears now.

    Fool.

Can I remind you of the name of this How I Learned To Start Spending And Love The NJS

You will be a disgrace to the country you live in if you sell it.

  • I'm quite enjoying riding a bike that doesn't knacker my already knackered knees, to be honest.

I really don't want to do this but since the Sarto entered my life it's been sat pedal-less getting no love...

I'm tempted to keep the frame (and take it back home) but strip and sell the parts.

  • put bigger cog and a rear brakes for the Knees Preservation Society.

  • you'll forever regret selling the frame do not do it

  • Keep the build, you will tire of gears believe me, nothing like riding fixed..

  • ^this! You'll really get tired of it.

  • put bigger cog and a rear brakes for the Knees Preservation Society.

I don't think brakes will help - it's more stopping and starting at red lights, and never giving my knees a break while riding (i.e. no coasting). Bigger cog would work but I already tend to spin out at speed so I'm loathe to make it any spinnier.

I really do want to keep the frame because we've had some good times together (and some bad ones). Reckon anyone would be interested in the parts, though, if I split?

  • Spin to win, until you've ridden 66ish gi for 70 miles you're not trying.

  • Thing is as well, haven't you spent a fortune on the parts?

I might be interested in the zen... pending whether I can afford it and teeth count.

  • I'm running 67.3 GI (46x18) and I rode the BMC 79mi Challenge on it. Which, incidentally, fucked me for weeks.

  • Have you looked into IT band therapy? I was on the brink of abandoning fixed when someone advised me about it.... Worth checking out for sure.

  • Pretty sure it's not an IT band problem. It's mostly my left knee, which I wrecked (snapped the tendon below my kneecap) about 10 years ago and still isn't 100%. Not sure what exactly is up with it, but the kneecap looks like it sits sideways, it's full of dead nerves, there's a good chunk of metal in there and it goes weird in the cold.

    Thanks, high school athletics!
