Helluuu! Any thoughts on dates for this?

Hey Sally, we did the doodle and then realised that we probably won't be able to get a train back with bikes during the Olympics or Paralympics :(

Think I can recruit one more woman, will ask her on Thursday.

Have done a bit of train investigating for other purposes ...southern and south-eastern trains seem to be the most restrictive - south west and c2c less so. So maybe we head southwest (Windsor? easy to ride back from there as well) or we could head out east - Southend or Whitstable?

You make it sound like army enrolment, Ed.
Or are these ladies all from your hareem? ;)

I'll round up a few more cattle so you'll have enough to push toward Brighton without much losses.

I've got a mental image of Ed toting a barbeque grill around now :(

cheesecake_intl has a bbq bike. and he lives in brighton

Is this still a possibility? I'll fill in the doodle anyway, hopefully I'll be fit enough! There goes my first LFGSS ride virginity!
-
• #37
It is! Just need to get my head round the train restrictions....and don't worry about fitness and all that nonsense. It's a social paced ride and you can always manage more/further/faster in a group, if you see what I mean!
Will sort this week! Honest!

Train restrictions here:
http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/cycle-policy/london-2012-cycle-restrictions/I thought I might ride down to Brighton sometime in w/c 13 Aug - probably mid week, and probably the longer route that takes in a few more hills if anyone fancies. Will keep you posted.

Would anyone have the time for a last-minute ride to Brighton during the day this week?
I would love to give it a go, if anyone's interested...

oh. i thought this was a girls ride. too good to be true hey? I have endless amounts of fellas to ride with, I thought this ride on the lfgss ladies would be a girl organising it. Silly me.
Are the any ladies heading out tomorrow?
-
• #45
Not that I know of - i did kind of hijack the thread a bit but as it seemed to have fizzled out hope no one minded.

Pinky! There will be a ladies ride to Brighton this year, honest! The original dates were scuppered by the bikes and train restrictions in place during the Olympics.
There's still time for an autumn roll. Will pull my finger out and suggest some dates...and get the ladies rides generally revived!

^^ I don't mind at all. Grateful for the initiative. Poots, don't feel pressured to do anything you cannot manage atm. :)

Thanks MM! We made there there in about 6 hours. Two stops en route before leaving town (one for gloves and one for snapped brake cable), crappy non working garmin so a couple of wrong turns and an excellent pub called the Hedgehog about half way. Those of us on fixed did walk on 3 occassions - Ditchling we made about 100 yards of!
