  • Think I've got a 120mm 26.4 at home, need to double check the length. Might be too long for what you need though

EDIT: I think it might be 130mm actually, ah well

  • For what it's worth, i've got a 10.5cm xa, 26.4 clamp.

  • There is a Roberts on eBay I've my eye on at the moment - he started at about £300 but no one has bought it, relisted twice (down to £299) so I'm thinking of making him an offer. It's my size, with chrome forks so very, very tempted.

You Sir, got a bargain! I'll keep an eye out for you at HH,w ill you be there on Saturday?

  • I wouldn't hold your breath...

    Not surprised!

many jealous people on this thread...

Cheers Tim, sounds too long for me though...

Just after an 1A, to keep things looking similar to how they are with the 2A.

I certainly did! I've been watching that Roberts on ebay as well, just to see what happens. Looks nice enough in the pictures... he could probably get the asking price in an auction, but BIN prices always seem to put people off.
I won't be at HH for a couple of weeks now due to work and holiday... I've only done an induction and a couple of basic sessions anyway, so I'm still using the hire bikes for the meantime. I'll start using this when I'm a little more confident (and when it's set up with a less spine-crunching cockpit)

    : )

  • (still after a 100mm Cinelli 1A, 26.4... and some white benotto tape)
Please let me know if you have anything

  • swap a 1a for a cinelli headbadge paintjob?

  • don't see why not... do you have pictures (of both)?

  • pm inbound

  • Whilst I think about Ben's offer...
are there any more 100mm 1A's out there I should know about?

  • I might have one, will check tomorrow.

  • thanks andy

I've messaged him twice offering £250 but he hasn't responded. I'll see what happens when it ends, hopefully he'll relist at a better price. If he just made it a buy it now/best offer it'd probably sell for close to what he wants and he'd save himself massive listing fees as well. I've never understood that.
I even offered him cash in hand, which would save him fees but he's either not into it, or just crap at replying to messages.

    It's a XA not a 1A unfortunately.

  • damn!
    thanks for looking, andy

@dglshrn: sounds like he's still humping that £300 dream, but he'll have to budge eventually if no one bites... The rust patch on the forks and the american flag might put people off a bit.

Thing is, he's not even responded to my question about the top tube length.

  • Thought I'd post up a picture of it's current state:

    A few things have changed;

    1. stem from cinelli 2a > 1a (thanks to hilly ben)
    2. bars from pista > crits (2a and pista drops was way too steep)
    3. saddle from unicanitor > rolls (the rolls is waterproof not stupidly expensive)
    4. pedals from pista / clips and straps > keos (so I can use the same shoes as for my road bike)
    5. gearing upped from 51x16 (86.1") to 46x14 (88.7")... but i might try 49x15 (88.2") or more likely 52x16 (87.8") next, as 88.7" is a bit of a grind on the longer sessions at the moment. (might just be my legs, mind)
    6. new bearings in the rear hub. it started making a hideous cracking sound last monday and i had to pull out and get a hire bike. one of the bearings had pretty much fallen to bits in there... it's all running smoothly now though, thankfully.

    So there you have it.
It's getting used once or twice a week, and I'm having a great time.

  • I love seeing this bike when I go to HHV. Its the nicest looking classic build around.

  • It's a great looking bike.

  • I want your bike so bad! :( damn you.
