well it was made in the USSR as the sticker said
Kharkiv was in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (УРСР) at the time, although I suppose if you transliterate from the Russian rather than Ukrainian that still comes out as USSR

As for the cranks, I found some sg75s in my drawer so will be using those
Lolz at this.
Wondering if your drawer is a magical portal to a Narnia-eske kingdom of biking goodness, with unicorns giving away DuraAce cranks and centaurs dealing Sugino track bargains.
I look in my drawer in same boyish expectancy, to find a Cane Creek headset cap, an old crown race and some lithium grease.
:-(

as for the time being I really need a phil wheel set now! -

So remembered that I had an old dura ace 7600 hub laced to a magic open pro. Got the hub repacked today and resealed. Should see me off until I have made some money I can get the wheels that I want!!
As you can see from the pick defo needs a deep black rear
Need to get rid of that blue

but this is ridiculously fun to ride about

Nice, i almost mistook it for your other bike at first glance.

goldtecs to a deep chinese crabon rim? That'd work. (If they come in a 32h rim) Goldtecs are bombproof and not overly expensive.
Would electric tape at the end cover the blue? Cheap and neat looking solution.

or give the risers a lye bath, just remember to keep it outside and off your hands. then a quick polish and you got them back in silver.

• #35
i think out of all your bikes, I like this the most.
-
• #36
I think a sliver of electrical tape will do yep!
Thanks Martin
Someone post it in hhsb now haha -
• #37
dude dude, stop, you're doing it all wrong
this frame is shit. it doesn't even deserve being in the same room with any of the parts you have there, let alone actually being put on. this is not already hhsb, this maximum perversion.MT stop being smarty pants (how can i even ask that), this bike was manufactured in Soviet Union, so it's still радяньський *ровер *хiп хоп раб

:P this was my parts box, need something to bomb to school and back and this does the job. Maybe in the future I will be able to get a better frame

And I like the frame a lot

Quoted for posterity.
Something to bomb to school and back is a bananna raleigh conversion on 32h open sports to on-one hubs.
Ease up off the broke-tinyviolin-DA-hubs&crankset-in-my-draws-please-can-someone-spare-some-chainringbolts-plz-story and just tell the build as it is.
Looking good by the way.

papa its not like I paid a lot of money for those parts :P the only parts that owe me money on this build is the front wheel, bars and seatpost.
All the rest I've bought in such a way that they are now essentially free. There are ways to get good quality stuff in cost effective ways but everyone knows thisThe reality is I don't have much cash to spend on getting new parts
and for the bolts I really don't want to drop £16 getting some new ones
ah cyka
sick wheel
