  • how do you covert
    -corima 4 spoke shimano freehub
    -spin trispoke
    -hed3 with freehub
    to a front wheel?

  • Change the hub.
    Change the rim.
    Respoke.
    Done.

  • the spokes aren't removable

  • Swap out the axel

  • Show us the photos when its done.
    Will be awesome.

  • Swap out the axel

i don't know where to get the axle for each specific wheel

i know the hed3 has one from the official website..but don't know about others

  • simples

  • Why do you want to convert all these rears to fronts? Why not just get fronts?

  • Yes, but my way, he keeps the wheel as it is and converts his forks... makes much more sense!

  • Time warp first of April experience, surely?

  • I think HED made a rear to front adaptor for some of their older wheels.

    .

  • Swap out the axel

Before this all gets too silly, the short answer is:
    You don't

The old rear wheels for screw on multiple freewheels were a doddle to convert, but the freehub versions can't be done without investing vastly disproportionate amounts of cash at your local machine shop. It's much more economical to sell the rear and buy a front, even if you end up paying £100 extra in the process.

    He makes sense

    (though less fun;-) )

  • i don't have those wheels
i am planning to buy..but i want to make sure i can make it into a front
or does it worth buying that wheel? corima 4 spoke £160

  • The Corima cassette hub is especially difficult to convert, due to the way the cassette rotor connects to the hub shell. Wait for an actual front wheel to come up. Early HED 3s with the black cassette rotor (but not Specialized) can be done, but not in a way that makes any economic sense.

  • has this been revolved yet?

  • A good friend of mine did this (though its a Specialized wheel)

    Maybe it can help someone

  • That's roughly how I'd have done it, but unless you have your own lathe, my earlier point stands; it's much cheaper to sell the rear wheel and buy a front one.

  • I'm buying a lathe,
What are they and how much are they?

  • the spokes aren't removable

    comment of the year 2012.

  • how much are they?

    Just under £12k BIN

  • @Shame; Well done! Your friend did a good job!

I know, he did an awesome job and people are constantly hassling him for a conversion kit.. He should market them!

I've just bought a rear 4 spoke for screw on multiple freewheels - any chance you could help me out with how to convert to a front? bought a rear as I may use it as a rear at some point, but would like it on the front for now. I've utfs and can't find anywhere that describes how to do this..
