  • Respect ladies! Good work.

  • Well done Tournados

  • That was a cracker! Great games, lots of exciting moments. The final played in some considerable gloom (spot the ball competition). Lots of Swiss rounds first (pretending here that I know what Swiss rounds are--well, they're Swiss, and they're round), then a double elimination rather than single elimination as originally planned. Amazing goals, especially the Golden Goal that sealed it!

Well done Tornadoes, but lots of other teams also deserve mention--Roly Poly Dollies, Angry Beaver(s?), Sirens, Kate's Bush, Polochon (I think), Cunning Stunts, Shotgun Sisters, Kamikaze, and best newcomers Loose Cannons (and I've probably got some names wrong, too). Awesome day.

  • Also special mention for Beagle's food, which was delicious.

  • Thanks to everyone who had a hand in organising Hells Belles and setting up the court etc... Lots of hard done by all for the whole weekend. Well done to my teamies you were awesome, BIG love to you both. Cunning Stunts......we love you guys!!!

  • ^ polo superstar right there

  • ^ Polo Superwife!

Wicked tournament, so smooth and well run - Jono, Erin, Nik, H Bomb etc you're amazing. Also brilliant to get a chance to play against such a broad spectrum of experience, well done new/ throw together teams for getting involved (inspiring for loads of ladies hopefully). And finally, chuffed that we got a fair few of the world's best "beaches" here to give us a run for our money and make the tornadoes really work hard for their victory!

    LPC LPC LPC!!
    (and cambridge)

  • Congratulations to all the awesome teams that played on Friday!! A big FUCK YEAH to the Tornadoes!

Well done for organising an amazing day LHBPA!!

I wanna say a big thank you to all the awesome people who helped me after my impersonation of an exorcism. You are all amazing people - especially Nik and Erin who were about to throw in the towel to escort me home (mentalists but sweeties).

Jo and Matt thank you so much for preparing what made for a much more comfortable trip home! And Jono for leaving the tourney to wait with me for a cab - what a Gentleman!

    Big Love,

    Lori.

  • Ah, I'm not on Facebook (because I don't trust them and their record on privacy and so on is terrible) so maybe that is the reason you can't share it in that way.

  • none of the others (twitter, pinterest, tumblr) work either, that was just an example. don't think you are required to be 'on' them for it to work, but I'm not certain about that. it's probably a preference setting or something.

  • Thanks so much lpc for putting on another awesome female dominated tourney. Thanks to the boys for coming out and supporting. Thanks so much to everyone for buying our musettes... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!xx Can't wait til next year!

  • What she said!

  • What a weekend! I'm going to write my proper thank you messages in a bit, feeling slightly panicked as I thought I was leaving thursday, but turns out I am leaving tomorrow. There's no time!!!

A big mass thank you for everyone who made these events happen this weekend for now.

    xx

  • Nooooo Erin! Are you still having leaving drinks? Thank you for all your hard work on HB's, once again it was incredible and seeing so many girls play killer polo makes me so happy! Tornados totally deserved the win, always inspiring to see you guys play but my fave team to watch & play were Sirens who have improved so much this year! Also the ladies from Shotguns, Stuntman and Stunts were brilliant. Big up to the Townbikes and all the new girls who put themselves out there!

Kate's Bush, I love you! Best team name ever. X

  • kate's bush, i love you! Best team name ever. X

    +1000.

  • Geez, where do I begin?

Awesome tourney!! It was amazing having so many people from all over and all with such amazing skills! It was a tough match but I had a brilliant time playing and watching the different games.

Kate's Bush, I love you girls! You guys played brilliantly all weekend, and really stepped up to the plate! There's no turning back!

Erin, Nik, you guys are fucking great! Together with Jono, you guys put on a great tourney yet again, and together Jo, you guys kicked so much ass on the court.

Now to prepare for Vol 3!

  • Now that I am back in Brisbane I have some time to write a proper thank you wrap up.

Significant thanks and kudos are owed to Jono. Attaching HB to the London Open meant the workload for pulling the event together was shared and manageable on the weekend itself, but it also meant Jon bore the brunt of a lot of the organisation/running of the tournament. For this we praise you, and recognise how epic your workload was to make both events happen. I hope I was a worthy assistant/2IC.

John H - did you even get to enjoy any of the weekend? You are scheduling king and the ultimate volunteer. I particularly enjoyed the 'don't feed h bomb' sign, and hoped people gave you a break from their incessant questioning. I can't say thank you enough for all your hard work, I am sure the whole community feels the same.

Adrienne - Fantastic work on the graphics, and for being a behind the scenes ninja organiser.

Bill - Thank you for ALL the hardwork you contributed. Reffing, cargo-biking, carrying, and so on. It's a pleasure to work with you, and your ceaseless volunteering spirit is pretty impressive. The polo cat / olympics thingy was awesome, and it was really cool that you were able to pull it together at such late notice. A lot of people have since told me how fun it was.

Mrak/Tree - Kudos for selling beer, crushing cans, and adding much hilarity and humour to the weekend.

Kitten weasel - off to a slow start, but turned out to be a super charged volunteer. RAFFLE TICKETS, leave no one behind, etc.

Eggpie - I'm really pleased that you returned from your hiatus especially to help us with the event. You're ace, x.

Jess - awesome help sourcing sponsors and being the PR girl, especially since I am so atrocious at it.

Badger - many thanks are due to you for your enthusiastic (and slightly hyperactive) help with setting up and taking down the tournament.

Zobags and Nik - pulled together the sponsorship pack and helped to secure the dollar dollar bill.

Nik/Ryan - thanks for being among the first to show up and the last to leave over the weekend, your carrying, building, transporting and being generally logistically awesome really helped to bring everything together.

DJs - PK, Festus, Joe and Aram - you made Thursday night one helluva party. Return of the bright times.

Joe - thank you so much for loaning your very very expensive equipment, and for getting it to and from the party. Thanks to you and Lori for hosting Maija, and looking after her whilst I was running around organising things.

Aidan - thanks for your impromptu help at the Orwell when you were on your way to polo!

Photographers - Paul, your photos are ace and really captured the event, especially the party! Love them. Thanks also for your help at the Orwell on Thursday.

Those who came to the Orwell to carry mildewy wood from the basement lair - THANK FUCK YOU WERE THERE. Mark, Oliver, Paul and a few new faces I didn't know, you're all brilliant.

Bike works and Sean - awesome, awesome job on the mechanics. So cool of you to get involved.

Musette! Awesome work girls, everyone loved your stall and I think it made everything look extra nice on the day. Also, thanks for the pizza!!

Refs, court builders and dismantlers, beer sellers, painters, carriers, lifters, cargo bike riders - thanks LPC and overseas volunteers for making the event run smoothly.

Hopefully I've not forgotten too many people, my brain is a little frazzled for the trans-oceania adventure.

And last but not least, thanks to TORNADOES - awesome fun on and off court. Jo and Nik, you guys killed it and it's a pleasure as always to play on your team xx

  • Woo! Nice one Chan.

  • i wish we could do this every day...
