you won't. your bike will be attractive and you have not yet taken up wearing muscle mary shirts
-
• #3003
Have you seen any of my bikes James? None of them are lookers.
-
• #3004
I think you only need a couple spokes on each wheel laner.
-
• #3005
Think I'm light enough for low spoke count wheels, but would prefer an otp wheel set to start off with. I see a set of mack super lights hubs ordered in the near future.

budget?
-
• #3007
A fair bit in the future that will be.
-
• #3008
Are the hubs double fixed? I thought they were single sided. Plus I don't want to completely bit on your style :)
youre right, its only one side. -

plus theyre ugly as sin

What's the best option for a fixed/fixed clincher wheel set in terms of weight?
Get Chinese crabon. If you're going to do it, at least do it right.
-
• #3012
If you can find me a otp carbon clincher wheel with a fixed/fixed hub I would consider it
-
• #3013
Probably be able to get them to do a fixed fixed hub.
Get the fuck on with it.

Why don't you do MDCC_Tester's Shimano rs30 + surly fixxer trick?
Surely more aero than a track wheelset, unless you're going for proper lightness for hillclimbing, rather than aero-ness for TTs.
-
• #3015
surly fixxer won't make it doublesided. I won't be buying a wheelset that i can't get two sprockets with lockrings on, i'm lazy like that.
Lightness would be beneficial for Bexley TTs because they involve a big up hill section, but it's not the most important criteria.
-
• #3016
You get more gains from being aero than you do from being light.
-
• #3017
At points of Bexley on the up hill I'm going under 20mph, so not so concerned with aeroness at that point.
-
• #3018
Making stuff aero involves zero scales shots.
Much worse.

but the 45mph+ on the way home outweighs the 18mph speed dips on the way out, no?

Trufax. I base my entire TT on struggling my balls off on the uphill and then spinning 53/11 all the way down the hill at 48mph. The only way i can see an improvement in time is by getting faster up hills, which isn't going to happen - i like hangin out with Iain in the gym and wearing muscle mary t-shirts.

interesting point. I always considered my ability on the uphill part to be my failing. But actually looking at the splits, i have a better ranking on the uphill than the downhill :/
So yes, you're probably right.

indeed, stop derailing a thread about a bike that never gets ridden with chat about cycling

this will soon be, the "super Light, Super sale" thread.
61 pages?
really??

James is right. This thread has become a thread just to troll me.
Whatever value in it is hidden by layers of not so funny people
