  • ugly as hell and pricey like a rolls royce

  • I had the forks and chain delivered today and Dammit has kindly sold me his EE brake calipers.

    Photos soon ;-)

  • I thought you had a zipp caliper?

  • I have a TRP 9something SL

AND now i have a pair of EE brakes ;-)

  • Slightly off topic, but here is a picture of a sub 5kg fixie for you. The frame is a prototype and the final product should be even lighter.

Frame must weigh a metric fuck ton, those components are *de rigeur *on 5kg road bikes

    +1
The wheels, complete drive-system, and finishing kit (inc fork) arent going to add up to 4Kg.

So that frame is unproportionally heavy.

Although it does say sub. Maybe they mean 4.2 Kg or something.

  • they'll have got it to 4.999kg so they can say sub 5kg
if it was 4.2kg they'd let us know i'm sure !

  • Iain, putting 3 super light brakes on does not make your bike lighter than having two super light brakes. Just so you know, don't want you spending hours and hours looking for where the third brake attaches to the frame...

  • but if those brakes were attached to helium balloons

  • That Seta frame is not drilled for a rear brake (from picking it up last night and having a look at it), does anyone know what the likely implication of drilling it would be?

There is a circular boss present on what would be a brake bridge if it were drilled, all it's missing is the hole.

Personally I would have the fear.

  • the likely implication of drilling it
Death in the face from fire aids.

  • we all know what happens with excessive drilling

  • we all know what happens with excessive drilling

    Dammit's lost weight there.

  • It's all that marching

  • I shall attend casa de catford and undertake an engineering assessment. In reality i would not touch a drill on a carbon frame.

Looks like super safe is going to that little bit lighter :-)

    Ask Dolan?

  • Not sure what you mean by circular boss. If it looks like a blanked off drilling, I guess you have 3 possibilities. Only one of which (asuming skill, care, and a sharp drill bit) wont kill you in the face with fire.

    3 possiblities.

The frame is moulded with a rear brake in mind, and has the reinforcing lay up behind the blanking = drill away.

The mould is designed to produce a frame with a rear drilling, but they blank the drilling, and leave out the reinforcing lay up = drill but dont pull the brake ever.

The mould and frame were not designed for a rear brake = dont drill.

  • Ask Dolan?

    Hush now.

Hes asked the interwebs, and we are busing making uneducated guesses at a mortally important build detail.

  • Don't drill it. Be a baus, ride with one brake.

  • I'm pretty sure Iain doesn't plan to drill this frame

  • And give me your spare EE. Ill give you 10 pounds

  • Ask Dolan?

It's not my frame, I can speculate without the need to come up with a proper answer.

This is the Internet after all.

  • Feck drilling that!.........

  • Bwaaaaaark
