I’d bloody love one

Probably being sold because their owners don’t like riding them on their own - you need to have mates with slates if you want to ride them with company.

mates with slates
Coining that now. Mates with Slates CC. Who’s in?

Makes you think
There's a lots of second hand CAAD12 for sales also.
Still an excellent bicycle.

Such excellent fun, shame we can't get those in the UK (except those in Europe can, like via Bike24);

The orange one is immense. Rigid Lefty is silly but awesome.
-

The rigid one doesn't make much sense, I can just fit 650b wheel on a CAADX and enjoy the benefit of a larger tyres clearance and nimble handling.

Go for a proper test ride before potential purchase. It's a really interesting bike and I love the concept, but I really couldn't get on with it. Fit was spot on, the frame is responsive and it's a comfortable ride, but I found the handling really odd and not intuitive at all. It might just work for you though.

@edscoble @PhilDAS @853Superfly, thanks for the replies.
tbh to achieve a perfect fit the original seatpost is only 7-8mm above the minimum line so while not ideal for riding (I’d imagine) the frame isn’t ridiculously small for me.
Think I’ll explore the option of a slightly longer post before the mine field of selling an essentially unused bike to attempt to replace with someone else’s one size larger ‘hardly ridden’ 3 yr old commuter.... -

Pics of your set up?

Not as many as suggested from the recent Slate searches I've performed and not as cheap as suggested either largely.

A couple on BR recently

I advise you to stop riding it until you get a longer seatpost, Cannondale will not honour the warranty if the frame cracked near the seat clamp (it happened more than once on both carbon and alu model).

Good advice, I’ve not actually ridden in ‘bigbird’ setting, only sized it against my commuter which does fit. Seems cannondale offer 400mm C2 posts but also found a hylix carbon post from Taiwan on eBay, I’ll see what turns up over the coming weeks before possibly taking the latter option.

My god, apparently the camera doesn’t lie but the bike does look a bit better proportioned in real life. (ignore seat angle too..)
