Cheers, that's a shame, plenty of space on my stock CAAD 8 fork, I just want something with a longer steerer and there's a slice fork available.

What model year is the C8?

2012, I tried a 28c GK on a Kinlin 31t earlier and couldn't see any problems. Thinking of taking the bike touring with me this summer and would like some extra stack and a softer ride. That said it's BB30 and it's likely to be raining for the weeks I'm planning my trip...

Have a google around - I’d guess the premium fork is likely to be different to the fork on the modern C8s

From a slow death by no maintenance (water in frame, super stuck BB, cut in fork boot) revived for commuting and going up the Cavehill / in forest parks.

They are hard to find in 1.56 and 9 cm length, same with the spacers. Well, I shall set up an ebay search, who knows ;)

I think it's more the stack of the frame. But that's because of the suspension design.

Yes - all sizes had the same headtube length.

Which is why there are some wild Headshok and Lefty stems out there.

got a 1.5 90mm one, but its too early to work out if that will fit with a shim or not.

It's too narrow, I don't dare grinding out the inside by 0.6mm to make it fit :)

The medium size was quite stacky which meant the large and XL sizes weren't so desperately in need of correction through bonkers stems and riser bars - but generally if you were super tall you could be accommodated by doing just that.

It's the small sizes that suffered the most as you can see, but even then a 17 deg to flat with a flat bar it would be pretty normal. Or you'd just buy a different bike.
