Have anyone fitted 650b on their CAAD12 Disc yet?
Gonna order a CAAD12 Ultegra (2018) and see how big I can go with 650b tyres, hopefully at least 38mm.

The chain stays get narrower. I very much doubt you’ll get a 38 in

The chainstay is the only concern with the CAAD12, the rest is fine, and probably be enough for a 42mm even (2018 model now come with thru-axle fork and the housing go inside rather than on the side).
Working in a bike shop mean I can try and test it out, would love a fat tyred race bike.
Plus, where is your chain?

Hello good people of the cannondale thread. Big favour to ask. Does anyone have some cannondale mountainbike tools I can borrow. Specifically:
- The pin spanner needed to undo a fatty topcap - Think its a Park SPA1C
- The castle tool needed to undo the next bit in my circa 2001 Fatty P-Bone fork
If available in london to borrow for a bit I will come bearing gifts of beer/mince pies/vegan alternative (delete as appropriate).
I want to slide a new of these into my forks and the tools will cost more than the bit. https://qwertycycles.co.uk/cart
Thanks in advance!

Coming in the post today :)

Haha they're coming along slowly I promise.
Changed the bars on the caad7 at the weekend. Took off the chinese carbon ones and noticed they were a bit creaky, gave it a squeeze and it snapped in my hand which is a bit worrying. I've swapped the wheels on it too so now it just needs tyres because I've pinched them for the 12 and some bb30 bearing covers and spacers for the hollowgrams. Then that's done. The 12 needs only cabling and the chain which are both coming today. I'll borrow a saddle from another bike for now. Oh and I need some bar tape -

I’ve got the Headshok tools.

Would you get a cross tyre in the CAAD12?
-
• #9315
Maybe the 30mm 700c but wouldn’t recommend it.

slate would seem like an obvious choise for 650b?
-
• #9317
Amazing - thought you might, but didn't want to put you on the spot...PM inbound.

Anybody have an idea where I can acquire the lightweight 'cap' from the SI expander bung, part KP017 (without the bung) for not much moneez?
-
• #9319
I've got one you can have for free if you want it, but they are shit and you would be much better off with one of these:

It's so pretty.
does it come in black?
-
• #9321
I have one ... somewhere. Let me see if I can dig it out. But what Borek said is correct
-
• #9322
Never used that one. What's wrong with it?
-
• #9323
I'm probably showing that I'm not a weenie, but it just seemed far too fiddly to use. I think the biggest issue was making the whole cap rotate to add the preload, rather than having an independent bolt through the middle. I replaced it with a tstr top cap
-
• #9324
Strange, i have that same one on my SuperSix and never had any problems.
-
• #9325
Uh I see. The one I have is the old, porky one that has a separate bolt for preload.
What have you got?
