  • Cannondale need to fire their graphic designers, the new synapse is actually a lovely looking frame without the ridiculous paint.

  • what's the alu synapse disc like?

  • Heavy with small clearance for disc, you'd think to have enough room for 28 and mudguard, but oh no...

  • in fact, what CAAD model did they switch it up?

10, if you don't count the SystemSix, where all that nonsense began ;)

  • Yup it's 1 1/8, Saeco colours, enough steerer for a 58 frame +30mm spacers

  • What happened to the frame?

  • Ouch. That looked hideous. Sorry to see it's toast. Trust you've healed up?

  • I got those info from our rep, hopefully so.

Ed, have you got another channel apart from CSG? Because goddamn CSG hate small people. 56cm Synapses for days...

  • Have fitted a -17 degree stem and 6800 chainset since building this up..

Only CSG, main problem is that they never have enough Cannondale whether America GET ALL THE MODELS.

  • Can't think why that is

  • Thank the press for splurging out on BOTY OMG?! CSG only want core models in popular sizes that will sell. Can't blame them, but when I'm after any 50-52cm CAAD or EVOs and they've got zero in stock it sucks. Also just had several customers cancel orders after waiting 3-4 weeks and having the due date pushed again.

  • What happens if you parallel import?

  • Dorrel kill you in the face.

And invalid warranties / crash amnesty I'd imagine. Which is probably the dealbreaker.

  • Just finished this today, brought the wrong size layback post, forgot the headset spacer for the shorter stem, lost my 2.4 nobbys, forgot the shock pump (was down to 20psi), lost the coda crankset and can't find the olives to shorten the hoses, also I'm 6'2 so the fit is tad awful, but other than that its pretty fun and really strong

  • What is it? A Chase?

Would be surprised if you can get a 2.4 in that Headshok.

  • No Chase, but the guy that I got it from has a really nice Chase full sus protptype with the shock directly in the toptube but would'nt give it up. This was built about a year before he signed to try different tubing, gussets etc, the other one no.00002 has an eccentric bottom bracket, they originally had leftys. I was using 2.4's with that front fork last week had a good amount of clearance as long its not gloopy mud
On another note I managed to get a 2nd hand Hope stem and finished setting up my 1fg as a 1x10 last week, so happy how it rides now, my fav bike by far

  • The 2.4"s I have won't fit my DRL80. Foul the air valve. They barely squeeze in new Pikes.

Cool find though. Assume the intention is a dirt jump bike, in which case slam that seatpost ;)

They had this with cars though I believe- parallel importing was a BIG THING after people discovered that you could order a car in (say) Denmark and get it shipped to the UK for less than buying the same car in the UK.

This went through the courts, and the manufacturers were told that they had to offer warranty support etc independent of territory purchased.

  • ^^^ That 1fg looks great, although I'd prefer to see it in its SS guise :-)

  • I can see how you could try to force the manufacturer to do something, but I suspect the numbers involved - size of grey import market and the value of the product - make practically doing that a non-starter.

  • Yeah, from a shops perspective it would be a non-starter, but from an individuals it would make sense/could make sense.

Mike Perry at Maestro down near Bognor Regis has been doing this with Colnago frames for years. He gets his from, I believe, the Benelux importer then sells them well below the official UK RRP set by Windwave. He's used existing European legislation to keep trading, despite attempts to stop him.
