Nah, I see that more as a challenge
-
• #8329
I literally wouldn't change a thing on this ^ I want one so bad but just can't find a decent frame
-
• #8330
I don't know what I would do with that though. Really old MTBs are really shit compared with contemporary stuff - or even stuff from the mid 2000s. Paint is nice I guess.

• #8331
towpath cruiser?
-
• #8333
Not for actual rough stuff. There's quite a few gravel paths along the river down by me, I'd just like to have some sunday rides down there, to the pub, the shops, commute in normal clothes and shoes etc

I shall watch, thanks. Its not the dark red one though is it :(

The Holy Grail for me was the polished aluminum Saeco with the Si fork - total rocking horse poop.

This one for me, red clear coat over raw alu. The same one you mean?
-
• #8337
Oh and one of these
-
• #8338
This - even finding a photo of it is hard
-
• #8340
All very nice. Could you polish the grey bits of the one in my link to look like that one?^
Also, what was the actual difference between a CAAD5 and 7? They look very similar....
-
• #8341
Small differences. The Caad7 uses the optimo tubing so's a bit lighter
Howard will probably tell you the exact differences now
-
• #8342
Obvious difference is that some CAAD6 and 7 are BB30. Other than that, weight and tube profiles. 6 and 7 are silly light, to the point where 'dale said they will last two seasons of racing, at most.

• #8343
Looks cool, guessing you never did find one then?
-
• #8344
One came up on eBay. In like five years.
-
• #8345
And you didn't buy it?! haha
-
• #8346
Ah thanks. I'm generally thinking of getting a matching roadie for my CAAD 5 Capo. Will look to the CAAD7 if the tubing is the mutts nutts. Would it survive bead blasting if it's so crazy light?
-
• #8347
They weren't caad7 think they were 5s but two came up on the bay about 6 months back in this colour scheme and they went cheap, sellers wouldn't post but I regret not getting one.
-
• #8348
Its 100% a caad7
BB30 which Howard says started at the 6, and look at the cable stops, the 5 had them on the downtube, the 7 has them on the head tube -
• #8349
Yeah sorry I just meant the ones on eBay in that colour scheme weren't caad7. Agree that this one is

I've got more cool stories
