  • these forks (carbon/titanium) weigh just 350 grams, soon I'm going to put a cinelli grammo quill stem and compact carbon dropbars

  • I thought they were steel! Fair enough!

On a personal level, I don't think a quill stem sits right with the rest of the set-up, but that's just me.

  • A lot still needs to change but at least it's finally rolling!

  • ^ Great frame, CAD3?

If you have to go colour tyres, how about gum or white? Too much blue imo.

EDIT: just seen it's an '88 frame.

  • They're probably gonna be a short-lived tyre, but I do enjoy the extreme coordination at the moment. Gumwalls in its future no doubt.

  • p.s. love the silver bar tape.

  • Finally built up my CAAD9, sourced from here, thanks robadob

thanks to MDCC_tester for the top cap

  • Looks great. Silly, silly Robadob should have kept it.

  • Weighs about 7.5kg (bathroom scales method) with an MTB seatpost and a 105 crank...

  • Yeah, my CAAD8 is about the same with 2KG wheels... Would be interested to see how light it would be if I actually tried to make it light. Slippery slope weighing stuff...

  • I know.... bit stupid having a Toupe with carbon rails stick on top of a bog standard Race Face post though ;)

  • Looks great. 60/63cm? How long is the 3T stem?

Amassing parts for the re-build of my CAAD10 now. Fizik Aliante carbon with FSA K-force carbon I think (second hand and imported to keep costs down). Hopefully won't break either. Something like this:

  • Thanks - it's a 60cm frame and the stem is 120mm

  • Nice. Same here at 6ft4, with the 60cm frame and 120mm 3T Arx. Going to try a 25mm setback post. Maybe a 130 stem down the line.

Ted King on a 60cm Evo with 120mm stem:

  • I'm 6ft1 and it's perfect - not surprised you need a layback post.

  • One bike to rule them all

  • Well, that is a very confused bike.

  • With what looks like a headtube repair?

  • Also looks as though the 'guards are touching the majority of the tyres. Sheesh.

  • I can't really process that image. It's late and I'm tired.

  • well ? .......... you've had all night to think about it

  • Also looks as though the 'guards are touching the majority of the tyres. Sheesh.

    mudguard expert that you are

  • I don't need to be an expert to see a tyre touching a mudguard.

  • My mudguards look that tight but the dont touch, you can't tell from a photo

  • might not be touching, but defo looks like a little rub rub might be on the cards.
