RS-1 is interesting because it's the right way up but not dual crown, unlike the Maveric DUC
Apparently it's a bit shit tho
-
• #2928
I'm comparing it to a normal fork because the weight of the lefty would be more comparable to a single crown fork than a double in term of weight.
-
• #2929
But can anyone tell us how much it weighs though?
-
• #2930
Nobody knows, I guess it's one of life's greatest mystery.

ffwd to 2020 and...
"do you remember that crazy 'Slate' thing? Hahaha? Only Neil bought one, nobody could find the fork weight"
-
• #2932
it's vapourware and weighs nothing?
-
• #2933
Depending on the fork weight... I really want to test ride a Slate.
-
• #2934
Find out the weight of the frame and all the other components on that 9.92kg build and you've got your answer ;-)
-
• #2935
We never gonna find out.
-
• #2938
I might test ride a Slate later today (if they have my size)
-
• #2939
Ask them how much the Lefty weighs - WE NEED TO KNOW
-
• #2940
I won't get on the bike until they tell me
-
• #2941
It will be released as a frameset only, question is when, and whether it's in Europe as well.

Thank Ed.

The CAAD12 will only be available as a frameset in the UK as a disc only model

Re Slate in the US: The Slates are not available from Cannondale until January 2015 at the earliest.
-
• #2945
So the state of slates in the states, is wait?
-
• #2946
After everyone has forgotten about them? I see.
-
• #2947
Lot of gravel on todays ride, a Slate would have been ideal.
But I can't have one, so I bought a Klein instead.

• #2948
January 2015
Dodgy date. All this smoke and mirrors distracting from lack of Lefty weight.
-
• #2949
Cannondale basically is Putin.

Did fifty miles on the F-Si today, no need for Slate.
AFAIK the Lefty Speed Carbon PBR is 1197g, heaviest is the 29ers PBR at 1410g.
Rock Shox RS-1 is under 1700g.
