  • Oh and here's my Supersix HM, will upgrade the seatpost at some point over the winter and also hopefully add some deep sections tubs for racing...

  • they told me that Cannondale would invalidate the warranty if I was running 25s on it.

That's bullshit, considering racers have 25mm on the rear.

CSG is notoriously known for being stingy and slow.

  • Yep, although I suspect most 25s on wide rims would leave very little clearance, probably fine in the dry but you might lose a bit of paintwork in the wet/damp...

  • Whilst negotiating with the shop to get them to send me a non-faulty frame they told me that Cannondale would invalidate the warranty if I was running 25s on it, I guess that remains the case with all models until this years redesign

Ha, comedy. For 'things that invalidate my 'dale warranty' you kinda need to hear them from the rep's mouth, so to speak. Most shops don't really know.

  • @edscoble I believe 'riding your bike as intended' immediately invalidates 'dale's warranty in CSG's eyes.

  • They're also supplied with 25c tyres, e.g: "Mavic Aksion, 700x25c, folding"

  • On the front actually and 23 on the rear because Mavic.

  • is it wrong that i want to buy his n hers beast of the east 27+ bikes?

  • No, it looks like lolz

  • that's what i think, i'd almost consider getting rid of fatbiek and the 29er

  • Reckon I might sell both off road bikes for a nice 27+ bike. 2.7's and 140-50mm travel? yes please.

  • 120mm travel on the bike

still much lol factor, traction etc

  • Just put some 25's on my Nano, oops, toe overlap ffs!

  • Don't ride like a granny then.

  • can you get staff discount? buy one in each size, small for my other half, medium for you and large for me?

  • Whats the difference between SuperSix, Supersix Evo + Supersix Hi Mod?
    Cheers

  • The carbon type used, with Hi-Mod being the best of the bunch

  • Evo hi mod nano is tops

Supersix is a very different frame.

  • SuperSix is an older now discontinued model.

SuperSix Evo and Hi Mod apparently come from the same mould and have the same geo, but the Hi Mod uses more "high modulus" fibres, making it lighter and slightly comfier? Sub-700g vs 950g for SSE.

Still lots of SSE bikes on sale at the moment.

"EVO Nano: The lightest EVO frame utilizes advanced high modulus BallisTec Construction and nano tech resins for maximum weight savings

EVO Hi-MOD: The gold-standard for elite race frames.High modulus fibers are used to precisely tune stiffness, while high tensile strength fibers and high impact resins deliver high strength.

EVO Carbon: By using a higher percentage of intermediate-modulus fiber to tune the stiffness, we are able to expand the EVO line with a super high-performance, sub-950 gram frame. Offered both with and without internal rear brake routing."

  • SuperSix Evo and Hi Mod apparently come from the same mould and have the same geo, but the Hi Mod uses more "high modulus" fibres.

That part is true, the previous SuperSix series came from similar mode, just different carbon.

Bit like how some manufacturer have 725, 853 and 953 tubing offering on the exact same frame (not including Di2).

  • Cheers guys!

I'm debating whether to get a CAAD 10 frame and build it over winter with bits I have for next summers nice bike or a Super6 (hi mod I think)...

  • That's an option, or a fully build alu Canyon to tile you over.

  • bored of all this road bike natter. Let's have a proper dale shall we...
