^That is rather clever. Looks cool.
Holy shit. Insurance company just called. They do replacement rather than cash (through a really helpful and well informed guy at "Wheelies") and offered me a 2016 CAAD12 (105) and even a replacement Fizik Arione and SPDs as an equivalent replacement for my nicked CAAD10. I'm totally blown away.
Alternatively i can have anything up to £1,200 from http://www.bikereplacement.co.uk and have 6 days to decide. I'm flabbergatsed by the effiency and competency of the whole operation so far.

Aviva. I had the bike specifically added to my home policy ata value of £1,200.
How do people like the CAAD12 over the Supersix Evo?
-
• #2656
No one have ridden CAAD12 yet, but it seemed like a much better bike than the old CAAD10.
-
• #2657
Y no CAAD11?
-
• #2658
The absence of a ‘CAAD11’ is conspicuous and deliberate, indicative of
Cannondale’s belief that the ‘12’ is a major step forwardshttp://rouleur.cc/journal/bicycles/cannondale-caad12-rouleur-classic/page/0/1

SSE's are all on sale at the moment so you can get a better deal / groupset than a CAAD12 at a similar price.
For that reason, because I'm not keen on the 12's looks, and want to try carbon (might be a little lighter and comfier?), going to try a SSE. Plus I quite like the external cable routing (some SSE like the SRAM Force 22 Racing edition have internal rear brake cable).

A friend of mine moved from a CAAD10 to a S6 and said that the geometry and racey feel is really similar, but the Evo is way way more comfortable. He rides a whole bunch, so I trust his evaluation.

Oh man I dunno. There's a really sweet looking CADAD10 "Race Edition" with SRAM Force 22 group for the same price as the CAAD12 105 and the SSE 105. Now I REALLY don't know what to pick.

CAAD10 race gets my vote for best value for money and awesome paint job .. that red is bright.
If you can live with trad drops and 52/36 chainrings.
-

Cheers. It does look rad. Bars are fine. And they're all 52/36 I think.
The CAAD12 and SSe have Mavic Askium wheels though which is a selling point.
Going to do some work and not think about it for a bit. they're open till 8 tonight.

I'm digging the 10 a lot.

Caad10 > 12
Windows 8 > 10I think the branding guys at Cannondale also work for Microsoft.

What mudguards can I fit best on my CAAD10 prommuter? Need to winterise it.

Bet you never got along with the front bit ..
25c maybe depending on tyre on narrow rim .. I have 25c michelin pro4 under mine (Canyon Ultimate AL) but don't think I'll ride them; will swap to 23mm.
Some day I'd like to replace the Canyon with something like Cervelo R2 or Felt F1PR for a serious road bike that can take mudguard purpose. Hopefully all this disc brake malarky will make luddite rim brake stuff cheaper soon.

I don't know if my commuter deserves £70 mudguards.
And the sks were pretty shit, but did an okayish job.
-
• #2674
Whoa! No. I thought they were £35/40 everywhere now .. you could hack some SKS there. Take it to LCW.

Difficult choice, I like all three, although the CAAD10 looks the best and probably is the best value. I would be tempted by the crabon though. Not much help? Whichever you choose, it's a good outcome from a shit situation! Goes off to check insurance...
Thank you.
