Forever tweaking...
After only ever using Sram Red/Force22, I scored some used Dura-ace r9100 levers and derailleurs to try out Shimano for the first time. So far shifting is smoother but drivetrain is louder?
Also new seat and lower stem recently added.

Finally got round to putting my himod frame together this afternoon having put off bleeding brakes due to having friends staying the last week or so. Originally wanted to run Campagnolo but the frame wouldn’t play with the EPS battery so went for Ultegra 12 speed instead. I might try to upgrade slowly to Dura Ace if I can find bits and pieces cheap on eBay, starting with the chainset.
Took it out for 80km today, was windy and I felt knackered so hard to gauge how good a frame it is really, I’ve definitely felt more impressed immediately by other bikes I’ve ridden though I’m sure in time I’ll fall in love.
Excuse the front end, though I actually don’t mind the externally routed cables. Have been waiting for ages for EXS aerover in 120 x 36 but they seem to never be in stock… so for now the deda superleggera combo will do. In due course will lower stem and chop steerer but for its maiden voyage this was fine.
Also, please ignore onackered bar tape - this has been on about three or four other bars by now so is pretty baggy and just a temporary fix til I order new tape. May end up bringing saddle forwards a touch and angling slightly more down than in current set up. Was a hasty set up

I didn't really appreciate what toe overlap was till now... honestly it's fine handling wise and the forks it came with seemed to wiggle quite a lot when going over bumps - 20yr old carbon forks made me prang a bit.
Thanks all - I'm really pleased with it - super fun to commute on and have taken it on some 100km+ rides with little discomfort, just feels like a shittier version of my old caad10!

i'm considering selling my caad12 as i've not really been riding it much...
not sure how to price it though? i don't really want to split it either unless it's going to make a big difference on how much i'd get for it.spec -
2017 caad12 in jazzy purple sparkly colourway - large / 58 (very tiny ding in top tube, otherwise vgc)
shimano rs685 shifters and hydro calipers (post mount front, flat mount rear)
ultegra r6800 crankset, r8000 rear mech, r7000 front mech, 11-28 cassette - all in vgc
prime aero bars / s-works stem (might keep)
cannondale carbon post / charge scoop saddle
(crabon wheels not included but would be replaced with some other alloy wheels -nothing fancy)any ideas on a ballpark figure because i really have no idea 🤷

£600-700? Probably one of the best bang for the buck alloy bikes out there.

Been looking at similar bikes on eBay and I’d say you’ll get £700-£800 if you want to run the gauntlet of selling it on there.
Not many 58s around which will work in your favour.

Managed to pick up a Caad 5 saeco on the weekend, this thing is near mint!!!
Need to dial in the fit now. What’s the go to budget compact bar?
Other than that it’s hard to decide what to do with it, I think I’ll ride it to death and decide in spring if it needs upgrades.

Well nice, with one of the best groupsets ever and some character-building gearing!

Great bike and nice that it has a full Campagnolo group! For bars I'd go for FSA Vero, Bontrager compacts, Pro PLT or Deda Zero if you want to stick to the Italian theme

Cheers guys!
Yes the gearing is very optimistic, but grand for the moment.
Love the look of the Caad with modern dura ace, actually just love the shape of those shifters in general!
Yeah I think I’ll go deda zero for the compacts for the moment, cheap and cheerful!
Picked this up a month and a bit ago to have a road bike again (wow gears are kinda nice), changed the forks and finishing kit from how I found it and the total cost is <200 - quite happy!
