  • Nice one thanks!

  • or the hipster thing ?

  • Can't remember if I've posted this, my camping bike. Loaded up for midwinter overnighter. 1993 M700 I think. It's a great bike.

  • Well I do think that's nice but also boring?

I have been heavily in love with any of the stinner / mudfoot bikes.... Mainly the deep orange:

    This

  • totally agree i was being sarcastic. that orange is nice and pops

that stem awaits if you go yellow ?

  • Why cantilever and v brakes? There must be a reason since it’s a posh build.

  • To reduce brake judder on the front I would suggest.

  • Cool stem but I'm bored of hi viz yellow that's on the transition atm...

I do think orange or an earthy tone, but not camp green.

  • Last summer I bought really racing-y Belgian carbon cross bike for next to nothing, considering it was barely ridden, came with Ultegra and was, well, full carbon. It came with cantis.
I rode it and on the my first proper downhill (as in going down the road, not trying to break my neck in the woods somewhere) I immediately realized why it was sold for next to nothing.
Three months later I sold it for next to nothing and bought absolutely run of the mill alu Giant with proper brakes.

  • Cantis are death tbf...

Ill be running trp mini vs for sure

  • Very cool bike, how long have you had it?

  • Bb30 frame...

Bb30 bearings and push fit adaptors or threaded adapter insert?

  • Threaded bbs in bb30 are better obviously as less cause for creak, but they are not foolprrof in an alloy shell, unfortunately.

  • You say not foolproof, how so?

Would a load of locktite or bonding help secure the insert better?

  • Yes you have to use that trick as well

  • Ahh nay bother really.

I know a guy who can weld aluminium, I've even though about pressing it in, welding the seem between bb shell and press fit and then sanding the weld flush.... But that's a serious modification

  • Yeah don't do that. If you have to do that to make it work, the shell is fucked.

  • It's brand new so doesn't need this kind of work... Just a thought.

As I have bb30 bearings and cranks I'm just going to use that, for the time being.

  • There are also these cheap fsa sleeves to press and loctite in to use a standard bsa.

  • Back on the Super6 road for the first time since Covid. 700x26 is narrow!

  • Built for rainy hillclimbs?

  • Nice 1x. Did you use cup bb30 adpaters for the ultegra cranks ?

  • Just shitty New England weather.

  • It actually had English threads. I was given two of these frames, I’m not sure which ones they are exactly, and I think they’re 2014? but I’m not even entirely sure about that.

  • Many years after coming up with the initial idea, my MGOOF Saeco is eventually taking shape
