Also a synapse with a -17° stem, why wouldn't you just get a Supersix rather than Cannondale's blandest.

It's a SuperX, 2018.
I'm old enough to ride a Synapse now, I feel.

As @phildas alluded to a couple of pages back, I have a 56cm caad12 disc to offload as soon as I find something to replace it. No reason other than wanting something more blingy, the frame itself is brilliant.
Looking for supersix HM disc team edition (the nice 2018 one ideally) or maybe even a (dareisayit) caad13 frameset. If anyone spots one or has one I'd be massively interested, got the money waiting. Black inc supersix on eBay at the moment but £1700 can gtf.
Rode with someone on a synapse HM the other day and I remembered how nice they are now. Do the carbon rim brake ones from a couple of years back take mudguards properly? It's hard to tell from Google and eBay, but it seems like it would tick a lot of winter bike boxes. I don't know how the alu ones ride but they look slow.

i like the new synapses, they take 32mm tyres pretty easy apparently

Yeah, the new ones (post 2018?) are nice. Just not sure if the alu are as good and I'd rather not spend ££££ on something which'll realistically see little use this winter. Hoping for some post lockdown/inclement weather bargains in the next month or so.

Was thinking about getting one of them in 2017, I'm glad I didn't now as I wouldn't want anyone to confuse it with a synapse.

I think that's a realistic assumption to make, or maybe a Mavaro Neo?

not sure about year, all i know is i caught up with a guy one evening whose fancy swerving seatstays and gravel-ish tyres caught my eye.
i wouldn't go for alu, the carbon looks ultra-polyvalent, an actual fast roadie with large tyres compatibility -

CAAD13 disc can fit a 35 just. Similar clearance at the back that my 2016 Supersix had with a 25.

Put some swanky new electronic bits on my CAAD12. Feels weird updating firmware on derailleurs. Still my favourite bike that I own.

Bought my girlfriend a bike. Wasn't sure whether to put it in here or the retro mtbs thread but it is a Cannondale...
Anyone have any idea what year it's from? I'm guessing first half of the 90s.

Really nice. The wishbone seatstay should make it pretty easy to spot in the catalogues.

are all bb30 bearing shields created equal? are they all the same width and profile?
I have some cannondale bb30 bearing shields left over but none came with the ceramicspeed bearings that came in the box with my new frame... The cannondale ones have a bit of a lip on the side facing the bearing that would seem to meet up with the inner race.
I can just use the cannondale ones with out issue yeah?

(perhaps this is how it feels at your first AA meeting) I have a confession, I recently bought a new Supersix Evo and have really been enjoying it.
I've ridden a Mk1 version of the SS Evo for a few years (in the lairy acid green colourway and over the top branding), but was tempted by the option for wider tyres (from 23 to 28), slightly higher stack and longer wheelbase (I'm not getting any younger) of the Mk 3. Given the geometry changes the ride of the Mk 3 is remarkably similar to the Mk 1 while comfort is noticeably better. The only difference in ride feel that I've noticed is that at very high cadence there is a slight tendency to 'bounce' which I assume is something to do with the extra compliance from the dropped stays and longer, exposed seatpost.
Anyway, has anyone else take the plunge and got a Mk 3 ? I'd be interested to hear your experiences?

I loved the light blue respray (track colorway) on one of the carbon frames that was posted somewhere (VMB?) and i love the old saecos but this somehow does not work
