  • How long do people generally leave their BB30 before servicing / installing new bearings, and where do you have this done (bike shop recommendations who won't fuck it up)?

  • Until it needs replacement :)

Generally when the bearings feel crunchy or have developed play. Or if it's making goofy noises.

    If it ain't broke...

Sigma, Condor, Bicycle Workshop, Brixton Cycles, Blue Door, Cyclelab - anyone who cares basically. If you get a micycle membership (£15) you can use our pro tools and DIY it with our supervision. PM me.

  • what's the max tyre width on a caad10 frame? Any chance you could get pdw guards and a 25mm tyre on an open pro in there?

  • I'd like to know this too as I have a spare 28mm lying around.
When fiddling with my brakes yeserday I was checking out the clearances and it looks like 25mm might be the max. (on my skinny, out of fashion rims)

  • 28mm should just fit, on skinny rims, but it depends on the rubber in question.

I'm assuming a 25mm GP4000s and PDWs will work, but again, it depends on the combo you have.

  • If this is working so will CAAD10:

scoble ran 29mm or 32mm or summat on his CAAD10 will work especially better with latest gen shimano brakes

  • I had 29mm max on the CAAD10 previously (native rather than manufacturer claim).

    This with 6700 brakeset.

  • Thanks Scobs. There a difference in clearance between 6700 and 5700?

  • What is that? Synapse?

  • Ho's canyon no?

  • Looks like a Canyon.

  • That PDW clearance at the front looks microscopic!

  • Yep

6800/5800/9000 brakes have more 'curve' design

  • Yeah.. looks iffy. I hope you like trapped glass etc :-/

  • ^ Wut? This never happens - the front of the guard just acts like a tyre sweeper ;)

  • MM.. resistance training.

  • Which chainrings look best on a Hollowgram crank?

    just spitballing' ideas

  • Hahahahahahaahaa no.

Praxis or Stronglight or, should you not have megawatts, MkVs.

  • Yeah, I'm liking the look of CT2's...

@Spotter I will accept that those rings are light, stiff and decent, but they also look like shit.

  • Dammit bent the CT2s with his mega-watts tho

But the question wasn't 'which rings look best and won't collapse under my power' ;)

I have BNIB spider ring if anyone is looking for one. Think it's a double.

  • Id say praxis look great, but i seem to remember @jambon having some very nice stronglight ones

  • If it's a 53/39, I might be tempted...

  • I'll check

I reckon Force 22 rings would look alreet

I have so many nice chainrings I'll never use - it's ridiculous
