  • are the mavic neutral service car bikes CAAD10s? can you buy the frames anywhere

  • Mad excited. Turns out it's spotless. The paint surprised me by having a very subtle sparkle. Real nice. Light too, but the fork weighs a ton. Looking for a replacement..

  • Dunno - is that frame 1" threaded? Or some weird Cannondale standard?

  • Fortunately 1" threaded and no weird Cannondale trip out measurements. The last owner just adapter-ed it. Not going period correct. It'll be a frankenstein of parts. Thinking a mish mash of SRAM and finishing kit. Wheels probably entry level, but there is a set of Cosmics that just went up for a £100 which is making my left eye twitch.

  • Depend on how heavy they are, if they're around 600g, that's about as much as a decent steel fork.

    Here's a cheap option.

  • The Premium fork is moderately porky at 430g. There were other versions. The plus version that came in at 100g less, and then there was the hen's teeth like Time Slice SI fork at 300g.

These were CAAD6,7,8,9 and Six13 forks though - I've no idea if the rake and AC will be compatible with Chak's frame.

  • @edscoble Heavy enough that holding forks in one hand and frame in the other makes you frown. and want to cry/celebrate because the fame is so light but the forks so immaculate. I'd say around the 800g. I'll weigh tomorrow and see.

@Howard The Time forks is what I had my eyes on, even if they're not the Slice version. Either that or Wound-ups because flipping Wound-ups yo! I'm slightly obsessed with the straight leg forks look.
First things first though. Front wheel, headset, then groupset.

  • Yeah, the older Time forks designed for external headsets would be a sweet find, but new Wound-ups because, Wound-ups.

  • Thanks for the tip off about the CAAD9 on bikeradar. I had already seen the ad and I collected it this morn!
    cheers

  • I have 2 questions re CAAD9. There is no brae on for a front mech, and the seattube looks pretty OS.

    1. Do I need a 34.9mm band on mech?
    2. What size seatpost does it take?
      Cheers!
    1. probably yes
    2. probably 27.2

google it and I'm sure you'll find answers

  • I'd bet on a 31.6 seatpost

  • Thanks guys!

  • My new R400..

  • Where's Howard when you need him? Needs to change his last name to Cannondale.
    Please post stable if updated.

  • I only have the F1000sl and CAAD9 at the mo.

  • Madness! The hell happened?

  • CAAD7 got sold, F5 is frame only.

Might have to 'invest' in a C10 track though

  • Already been asked about that 3 times at work.

  • Indeed. Off to murica for a bit in December, might smuggle one home. Yarr me' hearties, etc.

  • My hand is broken and I can only ride online and so I started reading the old Cannondale catalogs again. My Cannondale Track is Iceland Green Metallic color, size 60 and made in November 1993. However the green color is listed only in '95 catalog and from '94 the sizes have been 57, 59, 62. Who can solve this mystery for me?

    1993
    1994
    1995
