Aw!... I thought you'd been really busy for a moment there. Unless you've started cursing yourself?
I've sometimes wondered what might happen if I made one of these build videos.
" That's it, I've now finished setting up the gears....... Na, fuck it, It looks awful, I'll make it a singlespeed... No, a 1x9... no, 1x10, suspension fork, rigid, drop bars, straight bars, risers... where the fuck are my damn cable cutters? Where did that bolt go? ".... Bike falls over... Camera battery dies... I never want to see another bike ever again!.. Nobody bothers watching video anyway! :-(
It's a wonder that I get anything done at all!
Hope your frame arrives soon James!
How about making a build video? ;-)

Have also posted on AQA
What kind of barrel adjusters should I get for the gears for this frame
http://www.lynskeyperformance.com/store/cooper-cx.html, ones that go on the cable bosses, or in line ones like the jagwires? I am a little unclear as to whether the frame bosses would take barrel adjusters (it appears there is one on the seat tube for the front mech).
Am thinking of using Transfil Mudlovers cabling, the brifters are DA 7800 so the gear cables will not be routed under the bar tape.

email from Don at Lynskey
"James, they are in mitering now, which means welding is next, and finishing is the final stage. "
So hopefully see the frame in mid July.
Woohoo!
yeah right! so the frame was allegedly ready for collection on 6th July
Hotlines, the inept UK distributor told me today that the frame was only shipped last week, and that they are unsure as to when it will be here
i am not sure who has been telling the truth, but am really pissed off. Burls could have made me a frame in this time, the main reason why I did not go to him was his lead time was longer than the Lynskey frame was due to take
useless inept twats, i had wanted the frame for last week when I went cycling and camping, and I could really do with it next week when i am going on holiday
i can't find any other company with a stock Ti frame which takes disc brakes, mudguards and a rack, if i could I would buy it and finally build a fucking bike

Cancel it and get Burls to build you one.
-
• #258
am sort of tempted but i would need to find time to go to Burls, sort out the details etc and that i do not have right now, so it would take another couple of months
just fucking tired of the "you will have it soon but we can't tell you when" bullshit from Hotlines, who are a bunch of utter incompetents

I was under the impression Lynskey used used a higher quality tubeset. Something I would value on a bike likely to see much tarmac.
Anyway it could be worse. You could have ordered a Ti frame last year, and still be waiting for a tube to get cut (sadface).
The only Ti OTP that comes to mind is the Ti Vaya from Salsa. More of a trekking orientated than road maybe.

no UK retailer
or i would be ordering one right now
-
• #263
Doesn't look like it allowed compression hosing too.
-
• #264
neither does the lynskey but i have adaptors for the hyrdaulic hose
-
• #265
If you are ordering one straight from Everti I'd ask for hose specific cable stops

• #266
at which point i am back to needing a non standard frame

This is all depressingly familiar.

how long did it take for hotlines to not deliver your frame?
-
• #270
fuck it, who makes the nicest otp disc, rack and mudguard cx frame that i can buy on Wednesday this week, here in the UK?
-
• #271
Well at least yours seems to be making it's way across the Atlantic. I don't think I even got that close after four months.
Thinking mosquito could get you something tasty?

ever Ti just came back to me CAD 1500 and 250 for shipping
would that be here faster than Hotlines delivery, more important, would it be before the weekend?
