Being a complete novice, I'm going to ask a novice type question.... Are bikes availible to hire for those wanting to take part/race?

What happens here? Do you just have one heat and if you don't win/go through you're out?

No, it's like BMX motos where you get heats and placing final, if I'm correct in remembering what's been planned.

There are no hire bikes at race meets.

By acreditation, do you mean induction, three basic and three intermediate? I've done induction and one basic and have a few weekends before event, but love the idea of this. Would it be running before I could walk? Honest answer.
What are your thoughts on this then? Would it be too much too soon?

Get as many sessions in as you can beforehand and you should be good to go. However, even a novice Keirin will have the derny going up to at least 25-28mph so make sure you are at least capable of controlling your bike and still able to look behind at those kind of speeds.
There's no shame in being dropped by faster riders but I've seen riders get dropped by the derny and that's not too good for the other riders if you happen to be in front of them before the bike pulls off

Good point. Will it sell out, or can I afford to do another couple of sessions before I commit?

Booked.
Cheaper than an Open Event too. I hope this has the interest to become a regular fixture.

If I'm accredited at Manchester will that be okay?
-
• #39
I'd imagine so.

I entered this ages ago, but forgot that it's carnival weekend, so wont be able t make it.
Not sure if it's gonna sell out or not, but if it does, feel free to allocate my spot to someone else! -

You should be able to withdraw through the BC website....please do if you won't be coming..
-
• #45
BC is blocked at work.
Will do so when I get home tonight. -
• #46
Cannot register on the website as I am no longer a BC member and don't want to pay for the membership on top of the entrance fee right now. Though I would like to attend, I guess you have to be a member to do so?
-
• #47
day license if you want to enter main event, which is the right one of you....
-
• #48
novice for me I guess. reckon it be possible to pay a day license fee or will it sell out ?
-
• #49
I'm pretty sure a day license is not required for the novice category....however the novice category is just that, any known ringers will be moved to the Men's category....where they should be.....as this is a rare opportunity for club riders to race against the British Sprint development squad!
