Weather looks good for tomorrow. Well, it has to be better than today!

Rain stops play.
We packed up the computers once it started to rain, so if you have any results from the 3rd session, please let me know.
We will resume the "afternoon" session at 7am tomorrow.
Everyone already in the elim only needs to turn up at 9am.
We won't be able to do a 60 team double elim.
We do want to play all 60 teams, so we will probably just do single elim, but we will look at the options overnight.
Hey John can you confirm if my team "Last Minute Entry" is already through to the eliminations. Ta mate.

Cocorico told me they won 1-0. Reverant 5-0.
Both from winning teams players mouth. -
• #334
Yep.
So the format is likely to be two rounds of single elim, then double elim from then onwards. But the final decision will be made once we finish the group. The longer that takes, the more single elim we have to do.

Fuck yeah ducksng London polo!
I'll see you all on the other side -
• #336
If you have Time i would say do only one round of single elim, then you easily go to a classical 32 teams double e that we knows, wich can be easy to handle in no time if you keep a tight shedule as you know how.

Hey John, I'm pretty sure that Cocorico beat The F-ing Metric System 1-0. Chan, Bill, can you concur?
Yep.

Crease, the rule seems to work for now, but creases are stupidly designed, they aren the same on each courts. Somes are designed on the basis of the Basketball ball crease and are way smaller than other on another court wich have to big rectangle on it. Wich make thing hard to ref and play, as on two courts you can almost double goalie and on another one you cant. There is non sens to make different sizes an that's not a big deal to make them the same on each court. Also reffing this is really hard, I took a shift on mid day group, an staying focus on classical rule and ball play is hard enough. Having to watch on static defense with on eye and staying focus on ball play at the same is hardcore.
Edit: it seems that Players are respecting this rule as they are thinking about it( I saw Lucas jumping out o the crease several time). So that's hard to ref but looks easy to auto-ref ( as for foot down rule).
Yeah, me & Jono did both the 1 & 2 creases, and the 3rd was done by others, who unfortunately didn't get the chance to measure the originals as HB was going on by then. Apologies for that!
Another way of looking at it is that with the different sizes, we get the opportunity to see which size works best :-). I agree it's hard to ref, but I didn't have to call it at all during HB. But we'll see.
Someone (was it you, Clement?) mentioned that it seemed unfair that 3 attacking players are allowed in there for as long as they like, but only 1 defending. Possibly something to think about.
Hope that we get lucky with the weather. Yesterday, when the rain started, I had an empty pint glass, and collected around 5mm of water in less than 20 mins. Torrential doesn't really cover it.

How's progress? Still elim at 9am?
Looking at podium it seems that they r on time, double elim at 9.

Well shit, I don't think Acapolo can be there before 10:30am
All due to my own miscalculations I'm afraid.
If we forfeit, we forfeit. Sad times.

who's in Reverends?

• #347
podium says "Manu GVA, eric MKE, William Paris"

Does anyone know what they're doing with the format?
Last I heard was they were doing two rounds of single elim before moving on to double elim. If that is true, maybe they moved 30-odd teams into the double elim before hand?
It looks to me like double elim at the moment, but not all the teams are in the first round?
Must be a bastard to re-format on the fly... Good luck to everyone!
Black Stabbath FTW.

What a lovely couple of hours in Bethnal Green pre-Carnival this lunchtime. My first time at bike polo, I was really impressed with the skill of the riders, the spirit the games were played in and the fact that a good womens team could more than easily wipe the floor with a good male team. And the game itself is fantastic to watch, it would get my vote for an Olympic sport if I didn't think at lot of those participating would hate the very idea.
My highlight of day was watching the Germans on "bike soccer" bikes beat a team of their countrymen with a golden goal after a demonstration of the most graceful, artistic and awesome bike handling ive ever seen. The star of their team was the female member, it was like watching a lady Messi on a bike.
